Yamaha VXS10 Overview

Ideal for complimenting VXS or VXC series loudspeakers in commercial audio installations, the Yamaha VXS10ST is a surface-mounted subwoofer with a 10" LF driver sporting dual voice coils for powerful sound reproduction. With a 200W 70/100V multi-tap transformer onboard, this subwoofer can support a variety of high- or low-impedance connections.

The VXS10ST features two 8-ohm satellite speaker outputs, which are useful for connecting mid-high speakers to your system while reducing amp channels and utilizing the onboard high-pass filter. Along with the speaker input/thru connections, all I/O is available via block connectors. The subwoofer sports overload protections for ensuring safe operation of your your driver and audio network. The VXS mounting bracket is flexible, easy to use, and can be mounted on most walls. The entire speaker enclosure can be painted to perfectly match the style of your installation environment. The VXS10ST includes a mounting bracket.

Satellite Connection

The Satellite connectors on the VXS10S and VXS10ST allow for the connection of satellite mid-high speakers to be used at the same amplifier output. This gives the benefit of reducing the number of amplifier channels required and takes advantage of the high-pass filter built in to the VXS10S and VXS10ST. The high-pass filter is optimized for use with the following recommended speakers:

VXS5 (surface mount)
VXC4 (ceiling mount)
VXC6 (ceiling mount)

Highly Adaptable Design

VXS Series is equipped with internal transformers that allow them to operate at both high or low impedance simply by changing the tap on the rear of the speaker. These models also offer IP35-rated protection, ensuring worry-free use in outdoor applications.

Flexible Mounting

VXS speakers come with a dedicated bracket for safe, trouble-free speaker installation. Speakers can be mounted temporarily, freeing your hands to adjust mounting angles, which can now be configured consistently with ease thanks to the gear guides in the bracket connectors. Furthermore, the bracket base allows VXS Series speakers to be mounted on both walls and ceilings without the need to prepare a different set of brackets.

Optimal Sound for Installations

Both the VXC and VXS series feature newly customized transducers with large, powerful magnetic circuits that increase driving and braking force substantially, as well as dedicated tweeter diaphragms and speaker cone paper made from a carefully created blend of materials that help optimize sound reproduction.

Cabinets are built tough to meet the demands of a wide variety of commercial environments, constructed from a carefully selected plastic with just the right tensile strength, and designed with optimized bass-reflex tuning to offer a firm, tight low end. From the networking components and the materials used for wiring and soldering, right down to the optimal placement of acoustic absorption material, a great deal of attention has been paid to even the smallest details of the series' design.

Speaker Design

Several aspects of these speakers' design reflect a strong emphasis on functionality as well as the aesthetic features of their construction?effectively enhancing sound quality and speaker performance without disturbing the interior d?cor of the installation. This concept is evident in the hexagonal design featured on the grille that actually improves sound clarity by raising the aperture ratio. Similarly, the smooth curves of the surface-mount cabinet's simple yet sophisticated design allow the speakers to be mounted closely to the wall, while still fully capable of panning and tilting to target service areas.
