The Vortex Optics 45° angled-viewing Razor HD 22-48x65 Spotting Scope is engineered with superior glass and specialized optical coatings to provide clear and bright images at all magnifications. The triplet apochromatic lens configuration is made of high-density (HD) extra-low dispersion (ED) glass to increase light transmission, minimize distortion, and virtually eliminate chromatic aberration. All air-to-glass surfaces have Vortex's XRPlus anti-reflective coatings to minimize light loss and maximize image brightness, while the Porro prisms have highly reflective dielectric coatings that improve brightness, clarity, and color accuracy. This combination of coatings and optics creates a spotting scope that produces bright, clear, high-contrast images with accurate color rendition.
The lightweight and armored magnesium-alloy chassis is O-ring sealed and argon filled to be water and fogproof. A helical focus system, with a wide adjustment collar, allows for fast, yet fine focusing even when wearing gloves. The scope has a 1/4"-20 tripod mounting shoe and a tripod collar that rotates to permit the eyepiece to be positioned in the best viewing position. A retractable lens shade helps to reduce glare while keeping snow or rain off the objective lens.

Vortex Razor HD Reviews
Troubles
The eyepiece has fallen out twice and I can't move the head up and down so something is wrong, either I don't understand the system or it is not flexible. I don't like the stand. Screws instead of levers make it much slower to adjust. It could be my age, but I am frustrated and haven't used it as I thought I would.
Amazing value
Amazing value with included tripod.free shipping to Canada. No surprise charges. Would recomend to anyone
Wow !
This spotter is incredible easy. watch people hiking 4.5km away like there right in front of you crystal clear optics . I compared this spotter vs the viper hd 20x60 x85 and it gathers more light as the sun goes down well worth the extra money.
Great scope for the price
very nice scope
great spotting scope
Have only used it 1 time so far but really like it.
Great Product
These cases are great to keep your investment protected and clean. Would recommend one of these if you are purchasing a scope.
We are thrilled with this Scope
The zoom, width of view, clarity and ease of use all exceeded our expectations. I read several reviews and comparisons of birding scopes (Audubon society, etc.) before deciding on this one. Since it was not possible to see/compare any myself I was a little nervous about choosing one but as it ended up, we couldn't be happier. It's our first scope with angled viewing (now a must), and since it's not too big or heavy for toting around we plan to try taking it on more outings. In addition had the best price and provided good service.
Great scope!
I purchased this smaller version of the Razor line of spotting scopes as I am a woman, and wanted to be able to carry it along with a tripod and a heavy camera and backpack. I had previously owned the Celestron Regal M2 80 ED spotting scope, which was much larger than this scope but about the same weight, however it was just too large for me to lug around along with the rest of my gear. This scope has proven to be ideal for me. Its smaller size is much more portable which means I will use it more often and see far more birds! It fits in a backpack easily when not in use. I was initially concerned about it being less bright than my larger Celestron, but this scope ended up being even brighter and sharper, and I wish I had purchased this one in the first place. Vortex has excellent customer service and an amazing warranty to boot which makes this brand superior to others over above their well made optics. The only negative thing I can say about this purchase is that the scope only comes with a neoprene covering and not a carry case that gives it better protection. Vortex confirmed that they do not make one for this scope unfortunately.
