The RPS 500 series from Vishay are power resistors for mounting onto a heat-sink. This range has been developed specifically for electrical traction applications and is capable of dissipating 500W at 70°C. The remarkable performance characteristics are evident when used in severe pulse conditions. The copper base allows easy mounting on the heat-sink and provides optimal dissipation conditions. It has cermet resistive element, alumina onto base of nickel coated copper substrate. The RPS 500 series resistors have 7KVRMS and 12KVRMS dielectric strength options.
- Resistance range includes E24 decade values from 0.24ohm to 1Mohm
- Diagonal connections and straight connections styles
- Available in ±1%, ±2%, ±5% and ±10% tolerance values
- Low thermal radiation of the case, limiting element voltage of 5000V
- High overload capability up to 2 times rated power
- Thick film technology, insulated case and resin for potting UL 94 V-0
- Screws M4 end connections, temperature range from -55°C to +125°C
- Insulation resistance is > 10^6Mohm under Uins = 500VDC IEC 60115-1
- Temperature coefficient is ±300ppm/°C < 1ohm and ±150ppm/°C > 1ohm
