Venus Optics Laowa 24mm T/14 2x PeriProbe Overview
The Venus Optics LAOWA 24mm T14-40 Full Frame 2x PeriProbe Cine Lens captures sharp magnified shots with full frame camera sensors using their ARRI PL-mount and has a focal length of 24mm. Its periscope-style lens tube with interchangeable ends features an aperture range of T14 to T40 for a deep or shallow depth of field. Use it underwater or in tight spaces, thanks to its waterproof front barrel and slim profile.
A lens construction of 28 elements in 19 groups creates a smooth, circular bokeh with minimal focus breathing. The lens can rotate 360° along the axis to unlock the orientation ring and create spinning shots. Both the focus and iris rings have 0.8 MOD cinema-standard gears for intuitive manual controls. A 1/4"-20 thread at the end of the 15.7" lens allows you to mount fill lights or other accessories. Built-in LEDs in the lens tips provide a ring-light effect to your shots.

Awesome and fun lens, but quality control is unacceptable
I ordered the Laowa periprobe and within the first 15 minutes of using it realized I needed to exchange it. There were black specks inside of the Periprobe attachment and different specks in the straight barrel attachment. The specks changed when the attachments were swapped and moved when the lens rotated, so I was able to verify that the specks were in the attachments. They couldn't be removed by cleaning the lens because they were within the elements. The lens is really cool and I can tell it will be useful and fun, but I can't see that for sure until I get the replacement.
What an amazing lens
Amazingly specialised lens which can give you perspectives you haven't seen before. And affordable for a PL- Mount lens.
A lot of fun
Back in the day we used use the Frazier lens system -- which was cumbersome and challenging to use. The Laowa is tack sharp, albeit slow at an f/14, light and easy to use.
Probing the ProbeLens
The PeriProbe lens is awesome! Takes great pics/video and comes with both a 0 and 90 degree lens, plus you get a James Bond Case. The only thing wrong is the lens weight. It should come with a support like the one made by Nitze. And, it should be strongly recommended by when buying the lens. If you don't have a support, you'll have to deal with droop. Unfortunately, doesn't stock it; instead, it's a special order with unknown dates...I spoke with about this. Beyond that, do buy the lens from . I got mine in 2 days with free shipping. I gave 4 stars only because of the lack of lens support references or suggestions.
