Ubiquiti Networks Managed Reviews
Went dead in a little over year
Once you get aquainted with Unifi gear and their Unifi controller their switches and AP's are relatively easy to configure and set up and they work great.... Until a switch that costs almost $400 fails in a little over a year and strands your customers site network right in the middle of a busy day. And, when its just out of warranty. This model and earlier ones in the line suffer from failed internal power supplies which is not an uncommon event. A number of blogs out there are littered with complaints of these switches failing pre-maturely (like a little over a year) and for the most part its the power supply. It comes down to either poor engineering, choosing a power supply that is barely suitable for the consumption requirements of the switch or just poor quality power supplies period. I would expect a lot more from Ubiquity in this regard. Really!! just over a year and the thing fails? I have some old no name cheapo switches that have been powered on for many years and not a single one has failed. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me. This is supposed to be a business grade piece of equipment which should by default imply reliabilty. A little over a year of use before failure does not fit this category at all. To add insult to injury Ubiquity does not provide spare parts (like a replacement power supply), neither have I seen any acknowledgment from them in relation to this common issue, i.e. poor customer service. I will no longer specify or install these, going to look at other options out there.
fantastic
easy to buy, shipping and all.
Great Price
I't still in the box
A Great simple 10G Switch
This switch is perfect for mixing your 10G networks. Simple easy to use and you can use transceivers to convert to RG-45 as needed. I have designed a few systems to use these to aggregate the 10G networks for broadcast IP video system. They work great. We have been using them for over a year now with great success. Pros: - fully manage in the Ubiquity system. - simple transceivers allow you to go to RG-45 and work will to connect those devices. - SFP+ fiber work will for connecting and no issues. Cons: - Would be nice to see a 12 port version of this. 8 is tight some times with my needs. Also, if they had like 4 RG-45 on this witch that would make it a very universal 10G Switch aggregation solution. - Perhaps make the 4 RG-45 POE++ enabled. Yes I know it means the device gets slighting bigger for power and such it would just go a long way to making a single Aggregation point without adapters.
Unifi Pro PoE 48 Port
We love these switches for our clients. VoIP phones can be powered with this unit.
