TTArtisan 35mm f/1.4 Reviews
Great street lens for micro 4/3 cameras
Usable wide open, but quite sharp from f/2 to f/11. Sharpest from f/2.8 to f/8. Works quite well in good light as a zone focus walk around lens. I set the aperture @f/8, shutter speed @1/800 and iso @Auto. Then focus on an object about 16 ft away and everything from about 12 ft to25 ft is in good focus. Makes it like a point and shoot on my OM 10. Great for street shots on the fly, as IBIS damps any camera motion even while walking. One concern is the lens fit is quite snug (docked 1 star for this). I tried it on the 3 micro 4/3 bodies I use and while it works on all, the 2 newer bodies were the tightest fit and requires a fraction of a turn back and forth to click fully into place and actually show an image on the screen. I decided to just leave the lens on the OM 10 mk 2 as it makes a great combination for walk around or shooting bands in low light.
Absolutely amazing
It is an amazing lens. I have been using it as I got it today and it is great in any situation. I personally think it shines in street photography but again it's great for any situation.
Shockingly sharp! This replaced my pro lenses! Seriously!
No joke, this lens is very sharp! Don't want anything sharper! I use this for filmmaking, podcast videos and youtube videos now. I always get compliments on my productions. I don't buy expensive glass anymore now that I discovered this brand. Works for what I need it for. I own 3 now (two 35mm and one 50mm). Metal structure with nice weighted aperture clicks and weighted focus ring too. If you don't mind having a small lens body like this, and if you don't mind manual lenses, I highly recommend this! if you're on a budget, you can't beat this! As long as you have a good camera and you know how to shoot right (and with great lighting when indoors) you will get fantastic results!
Best lens $73 could buy.
I was pleasantly surprised - amazed, rather - when I received this piece of glass. The focus and aperture rings are very smooth and a joy to use (smoother than the 17mm f/1.4). When shooting wide open, not only it lets in a lot of light, allowing you to shoot in lower light, but also creates a very nice vintage effect with some pleasing creamy bokeh, and if you stop down the aperture, the sharpness is unmatched at this price point. Manual focus only adds experimentation to your photography and keeps it interesting. It's also stylish and gives off this vintage reporter vibe while remaining small and lightweight - I just keep it in the pocket of my coat and don't even bother with putting it in my bag. Is it the best 35mm lens on the market? No. Is it the sharpest one? No. Is it small and great-looking while producing great images? Absolutely. A bargain, if you ask me. I'd recommend getting it especially if you're feeling stale with your photography, it'll spice things up. I'm certainly having fun and exploring new grounds.
Wonderful Addition to my Fuji Kit
This lens gives me the normal lens perspective and angel of view I was looking for in a compact package for my Fuji cameras. I like the size when compared to the kit Fuji 18-55mm lens for a walk-around lens on the street and even in landscapes and casual portraits.
not bad
the price should limit your expectations which it did for me but the lens exceeded my expectations. it has its flaws, a little soft which can be ok in certain situation
Great value
Very sharp, smooth bokeh, metal construction. Nice compact size, perfect for street photography. Some might not like that it's a manual focus lens, but for me that wasn't a problem. On mine the maximum focus goes just beyond Infiniti, so that's something else to keep in mind. But overall this little lens way out performs it's price
Great Lens for Micro 4/3
Very pleased with the results from the lens. Better than using older vintage lenses. I get really sharp results even wide open. I use it on a Panasonic G85 and GX85.
