TTArtisan 23mm f/1.4 Overview
Offered here in black and silver and an elegant retro design, this TTArtisan 23mm f/1.4 is a compact wide-angle prime for Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras. Designed for APS-C systems, the lens provides a focal length equivalent of 35mm on a full-frame camera and offers a bright f/1.4 maximum aperture for working in a variety of lighting conditions. An excellent walkaround lens for portraits, landscapes, and all-purpose photography, the lens's manual focus design permits smooth and refined control. Well-suited for low-light photography, its wide aperture enables enhanced control over depth of field for isolating subject matter when using selective focus techniques, while a 10-blade diaphragm lets you capture smooth and natural-looking bokeh. Robustly constructed with eight elements in six groups, the lens incorporates one low dispersion element and three high index elements, which combine to suppress a variety of aberrations while producing high color accuracy and sharpness.

TTArtisan 23mm f/1.4 Reviews
So far my favorite from TTArtisan, great for the price.
First off I love the silver and black styling, as well as the slip-on lens cap and build quality. The small size is also very impressive. Image quality is really nice as long as you know how to use this lens and account for it's shortcomings. For brick walls you'll need something else, this lens has noticeable field curvature. For closer portraits at f/1.4 I love it and this is primarily what I use it for. For mid-distance subjects you begin to notice the field curvature going into the corners which detracts from the overall rendering, the biggest con of this lens IMO. For sharp landscapes or similars you'll need to stop down to at least f/5.6. This little lens had been glued to my X-T2 lately, I find it pairs well with a contrasty film simulation and particularly like shooting it with Acros.
It has its uses
This lens will not wow you. It is not in the same zip code or even in the same hemisphere as the Fuji 23/1.4 LM, but if you want a character lens with the same characteristics that you get from many vintage lenses, then this makes the grade. As long as you don't expect it to be the Fuji-X lens killer, then you're good.
Punches far above its weight
Yes, it's manual focus. Yes, it's heavy. It's a very old-school experience. But if you just learn some basic zone focusing, it works great for a LOT of situations. And the images you get are really stunning. Like, $800 lens stunning, with impressive contrast and beautiful bokeh. And the build quality is exquisite. It's a really fun lens, and at its price it's a great deal.
Quality exceeds price by 10x
This lens should be an embarrassment for other manufacturers. If all you care about is shaaarrpppness then you probably aren't even looking at this page anyway. If you care about 3D pop, deep tonality, and life-like rendering, this lens rivals anything from German manufacturers known for those characteristics and costing 7-13x as much. Even things you wouldn't expect from a $100 lens like great flare performance - this lens has it. Only nitpicks are the weird jump in the aperture ring from f8 to f16 and the comical heaviness of the lens. I have plenty of all metal lenses and even ones twice this size aren't this heavy. Does it feel quality and built like a tank? Absolutely. It's also as heavy as a tank and on a tiny Fuji X-E body makes the camera stupidly front heavy. TL;DR - I gladly buy this lens for $700 because that's what I was going to pay for the same image quality from the brand that starts with V and ends with Lander.
Great Value
Bought the lens to use for a Fujifilm X Pro3. Solid built, good optics. The aperture ring is a bit on the small site but still easy to use. Lots of fun and great value.
Worth the price
My second ttartisan lens and I am happy with quality. Shoots great portraits.
Vintage lens look; Modern build quality
This lens is just really fun! It pairs really well with a z30 and delivers a type and quality of pictures that is both early 90's Canon film look with the reliable use of a modern lens. You don't have to find an overpriced older lens with character, you can just buy a brand new, well built, cheap lens with built in character.
manual focus Prime lens
The lens is a nice nifty 50 for my MFT cameras , Well worth the price tag in my opinion.
