Tilta PowerGrip Handle with Trigger Overview
Power your Nucleus Nano lens motor and add start /stop control for select cameras with the type-IV Tiltaing Left-Side Advanced Focus Handle for F570 Battery from Tilta. This black handgrip features two threaded mounting holes that allow you to choose from a variety of attachment options for mounting on your camera cage or baseplate (attachment is not included and required). The comfortable handgrip accepts an F55/F570 L-series battery internally, allowing you to power your Nucleus Nano focus control motor via the built-in thumbwheel (cable is not included). The handgrip also features a 12 VDC output port.
The handgrip features a record start/stop button and a calibration feature for use with a variety of lenses. The integrated female mounting threads permit 306° rotation for adjustment of the handgrip's angle, and it allows you to choose your mounting attachment such as the Tilta Rosette Attachment, ARRI Locating Pin Attachment, NATO Rail Adapter, and more. An included adjustable wrist strap helps keep your hand comfortably on the handgrip, allowing you to relax your hand with the handgrip sliding off your hand to help prevent fatigue.

Tilta PowerGrip Handle with Trigger Reviews
whoever designed this never used it in the field
ok. on paper, this piece of kit is the bomb. big battery, adjustable angle, strap, big grip...I'm in, Let's go! IRL...not so much. Whoever designed this has never used this in the field on a rig. first of all, the calibrate button is exactly where your thumb goes when you are holding your rig, so in the middle of a shot, your lens will undergo a full stop to stop calibration. To say that will ruin a shot in a live situation is an understatement. the angle adjustment button is almost exactly where your index finger goes when you wrap your hand around the grip. so, for me to make this work - I have to tighten up the strap as far as it will go, shove my hand in as far as possible, curl my thumb over the strap/top of the grip (avoiding the power button) as not to trip the calibrate button then either stick my index finger out to avoid the angle adjustment and try to adjust focus on the very short throw wheel or try to wedge my hand below the angle adjustment button. this works...barely until my hand starts to cramp and the shot is ruined again. I have all three of the Nucleus N controllers/grips and to be fair, all of them are not good. the wheel one uses weird/hard to find batteries that don't hold a charge and don't get me started on the Bluetooth connection!, the basic one is held on with 2 Phillips screws that you can only tighten thru 2 tiny holes in the side of the grip and can't crank down enough to keep it from wiggling and this one with the shortcomings listed above. I swear this could be SOOOOO good...and it's not. Try it regardless as long as there's a good return policy. I shoot live event video for a living and these are not mission critical.
More problems with Tilta gear. was great as usual.
Purchased as a DealZone on a whim, as I had swore I'd never buy another Tilta product again (great mechanics and hardware, terrible electronics and software). Had a number of G2X and G1 gimbals with serious flaws and issues that surfaced not long after purchase. Power cutting out if you slightly bumped the unit, severe horizon tilt even after using the app to level it and batteries issues that never ended. They are now sitting in a pile and not one can be used today. Tilta decided to stop making/selling that gimbal and it seems there was a good reason... it had real problems. Check out the ratings for that thing. Nucleus M set that needs tin foil and tape on it to make it work work... sometimes. FIZ issues (can't see the screen most of the time and it was installed wonky at that.) There are actually other issues beyond those show stoppers. So, I decided to take a chance on this focus handle, when it was about half price. Well, I somehow got the lemon, or Tilta just sells junk... consistently. It doesn't work at all. No movement of the motor when turning the wheel, the CAL button does nothing either. Long press to calibrate, nothing happens. Double tap to calibrate... NOTHING. Turn the knob... NOTHING!! It's literally a battery holder at this point. Guess I should have stayed away... as should you. I've NEVER had so many issues with a single brand or company in my life. It's kinda frightening.
A must when using a Tilta Cage.
A perfect add-on to the Tilta Cage.
I have 2 of these - they work great
I purchased two of these ( a left and a right) to use on my ring rig for my cinema setup. I use one for follow focus and the other for zoom on my cinema lenses. Works great!
Its pretty nice!
Pretty nice little handle. I wish there were strap loops or something I could attach a strap to.. and a cold shoe mount on top would be nice. TAKE NOTE: I got a NP-F dummy battery off the site and even though everyone is claiming they dont work, guess what, it works... This is the one: BLUTEC D-Tap to Regulated NP-F Dummy Battery Cable (32)
Perfect for the tiny rig
It installs super easily and securely. Great for my slimmed down concert videography rig.
appears to be garbage
cant actually calibrate or control the nucleus nano. powers it fine, but i now have no way to control it and that was the point of purchasing it. i have been happy with all the hardware i have gotten from tilta so far, but this is not good. sending it back if i cant get it to work, and so far i can't find any useful information on getting this to work.
Works Great
I have two and they both work well. Powers is solid and focus has no lag.
