Think Tank Photo Digital Holster 40 V2.0 Overview
The black Digital Holster 40 V2.0 from Think Tank contains a unique "Pop Down" feature that allows the lens hood to be kept on the camera held in shooting position. For the active shooter, this is a real time-saver. The case is made to hold a regular-sized DSLR such as a Canon 1D, 1Ds or Nikon D3, D4 with a 24-70mm f/2.8 with its hood either reversed or in shooting position. Your camera can also be placed in the bag with a tripod plate or L-bracket attached to it.
This is a form-fitting case, somewhat reminiscent of a western holster - ready to draw and shoot at a moment's notice. The case comes with a side rail attachment that accepts a small Modular, Skin, or Multimedia component. This increases the footprint and capacity of the holster as well as your shooting capabilities. The holster comes with Think Tank's "Rotate or Lock" technology for their Pro Speed Belt, Thin Skin Belt or Steroid Speed Belt that permits you to attach the holster with no effort at all. There is also a smooth fabric on the belt to minimize friction against your body. One of the best features of the bag is that the lid opens away from your body. This enhances access to your gear as well as adding a significant security aspect to the bag since, when opened, the lid acts a shield preventing others from seeing what's inside. The removable shoulder strap and top grab handle are complemented by dual zippers that guard the access to the main compartment.
For accessories, a front stretch pocket can hold lens caps, batteries and other small items. Another touch fastened small accessory pocket is located under the top lid that is perfect for holding a filter. For ultimate protection of the delicate LCD screen on your DSLR, a soft divider fits over the top protecting it from the strap that may be stuffed inside.
There's nothing like networking so the bag comes with a neat business card holder right under the top grab handle. Finally, for maximum protection while outside, the bag comes with a built-in rain cover that is stored in an outside pocket and which can be easily deployed when the weather turns against you. The holster comes with Think Tank's lifetime warranty against manufacturer's defects.

Think Tank Photo Digital Holster 40 V2.0 Reviews
Fits Z9 with numerous lenses
Purchased this primarily for a Nikon Z9 and Z24-120 lens and it fits perfectly. Also works with Z14-24 lens and anything similar. With extension down the hood can be in the shooting position. ALSO with the extension down you can fit either a Z70-200 or Z100-400 with the hood reversed and of course a Z9 attached. However...with the Z100-400 it is so snug that the lens will extend out to the 400mm position when you pull it out. I did not like the idea of forcing the zoom to extend every time I remove it. Not a problem with the 70-200 since it zooms internally. Overall, a very versatile holster with Think Tank quality.
Absolutely really good.
I use it for my Nikon D500/MB-D17 or D810/MB-D12 and my Nikon ED-IF 17-55MM F/2.8G AFS DX lens. Very easy to carry with belt around waist without hassle. Big thumbs up.
Camera holster
Have several of different sizes. Like that style for walk around and one lens.
Functional, Lightweight Holster.
I have found this holster to be a good match for a Nikon D-850 with an attached battery grip and a wide angle zoom lens. I have combined it with other Think Tank products including a belt, a shoulder strap, and a harness. Very impressed with how well the weight of gear is distributed and how quickly gear can be accessed. Very comfortable for long walks and hiking.
Works very well
I have used this pouch on a Steroid Belt to carry a D850 with vertical grip RRS L bracket and 14-24mm lens. The fit of the camera with accessories is tight, but it fits. The fit of the lens is not a problem.
Searching for perfection
Excellent bag and I like it very much but wish It had two improvements. 1) one extra zippered storage compartment on one side and 2) instead of the tight cloth loops for attaching the harness they should use small metal rings. I found it a little difficult and time consuming to attach those but other than those two things excellent product!
Great design which accommodates a gripped 70-200 and 24-70.
I was worried that it wouldn't fit my R3 with a 70-200 2.8 as well as my 24-70, but it's great. A very clever design with the unfurling zip to accommodate different lens sizes. It could use some more pockets for a spare battery and strap so it lost a star for that. (There's a stretchable side slot for something which becomes the battery carrying-strap holder). This is my first ThinkTank (Tenba, LowePro, Tamrac so I can't judge the quality quite yet but I love the solid metal bag clips (bolt snap type) and it looks very well made. I think the strap could be wider (it feels thin with a 70-200 inside) and the strap shoulder harness feels like it could be wider too but time will tell. Overall a quality product with a very clever design.
Great bag
I have a bunch of the TTP Digital Holsters (5, 10, 20, 50), for various camera/lens combinations. Recently decided to attach the free battery grip that came with my 5D MkIV, so decided to get the 40 (didn't absolutely need it, but...). It works with the 5D + medium length lens (24-105, 16-35, 135, etc); even with my 180 Macro or 70-200 f/4 (if you drop down the extension). It fits these really well plus polarizer, spare battery, etc. I usually don't use it while actively photographing (typically preferring to use a Black Rapid strap), unless I'm expecting rain; but it works really great for protection while transporting gear in my car.
