Think Tank Photo Accelerator Overview
The black Airport Accelerator Backpack from Think Tank is an immense pack designed for the serious pro that needs to carry an entire camera system. This huge pack will accommodate two pro DSLRs as well as 6-8 additional basic zooms including your 500mm f/4 attached to a body or an unattached 600mm f/4 without hood. Larger than Think Tank's Airport Commuter, this pack contains the same features but on a larger scale. Your 17" laptop and iPad are held in their own separate, zipper lockable compartment.
Overall, the pack is designed for maximum efficiency and portability and meets the needs of the pro shooter who needs a quick access pack that both travels well and is secure. The exterior is made from a combination of ballistic nylon and polyurethane for strength and water-resistance while the inside is nylon with padded closed cell foam dividers. For security, the Airport Accelerator comes with a security cable and lock that can be tied to any solid object such as a reception hall column or fence. This allows you to remove gear knowing that the rest of the pack will remain where you leave it. The strong YKK zippers on the pack can also be locked with user-supplied locks for even more peace of mind.
As part of Think Tank's Airport series, the Airport Accelerator makes your traveling life easy and comfortable. There are carry handles on three sides and the adjustable harness comes with beefed up lumbar support and Air Mesh paneling to keep your back cool while on the march. For sheer convenience, the adjustable shoulder straps even have elastic pockets for your iPhone or business cards. The waist belt is removable and can accept Think Tank's optional Pro Speed Belt or Thin Skin Belt that will make portability more comfortable as well as increase your load capacity. Inside, the main flap has see-through laminated mesh pockets for storing everything from memory cards to snacks.
For marginal weather, the pack comes with an easily deployed rain cover. The tripod mounting system places the feet in a side pocket and the head secured with an included strap. While you're on the move, use the side water bottle pocket for instant refreshment without having to stop, remove the entire pack and retrieve liquid. And, when you're at the airport, the top zippered pocket is the perfect place to store your passport.
The Airport Accelerator may not look like a traditional photo backpack but it holds as much, if not more, than most of them. With its immense capacity, ease of use and security features, the Airport Accelerator is a pack built for the traveling pro. It's backed by Think Tank's lifetime warranty against manufacturer's defects.

Think Tank Photo Accelerator Reviews
Fantastic for maximizing gear
I've been a big fan of Think tank soft cases and bags for awhile as they are the only brand I've found so far to hold up to the abuse of constant production, so this backpack that fits in economy as a personal item under the seat paired with a standard carry on is perfect for trying to maximize the camera equipment you can bring. You can easily take all dividers out, shove a ton of randomly shaped AKS and small grip equipment inside, and STILL have room for a large laptop. I typically put camera lenses and batteries inside the standard carry on, and everything else goes in the airport accelerator. If you aren't trying to fly with large Alexa or Red kits, then with the dividers this bag would be perfect for fitting your entire camera kit in while still having room for a laptop. Think tank is absolutely worth the money, all of my bags from them are still in excellent condition after years of use.
Great storage and nice layout, but...
Generally a nice bag, but I do question one thing: the lockability. Any camera bag needs to be secure throughout given the cost of equipment - which incl smaller accessories. This bag has lock rings on two of the 3 pockets out front - why not all 3? Why would they not simply use the same zippers on all 3 openings? Most bag manuf do overlook this basic but obvious need. Travellers know just how professional pickpockets can be - and this one makes it easy with that outside pocket.
Best bag ever
this is the second one very solid very good bad
Great Backpack to have
A lot of room. Solid build. I love it.
Stretching the truth
I bought this bag because Think Tank said my canon 600mm would fit in it. Well after some pushing and stuffing I finally got in, but the bag is distorted and it's tricky getting the zipper done up. They could have warned it was a tight fit.
after long search, exactly what i needed.
so i like backpacks, not rollers or any suitcases with wheels. i needed something i could carry on flights that would hold 2 full-frame dslrs, a few lenses (including a 70-200), a flash, mics / deadcat / recorder / cabling for interviews, extra batteries, chargers, and charging cables. this did the job. very happy with it and would highly recommend. durably built and appropriately cushioned. i have been on two run-and-gun video/photo production trips already and about to leave for another. per other reviews, i put my 15 MacBook in a thin, minimally protective sleeve before putting it in the laptop section; works great. very happy with the two outer compartments. tripod holder works well too. and appreciate the handles on the side and bottom. just a great bag. very happy with it.
Yes!
This bag is exactly what I was looking for. As a run and gun solo filmmaker, I'm able to fit several cameras and several lenses in the one bag. Yes, this bag is large but it feels very sturdy and I can fit my 17 laptop (with the sleeve) in the front pocket. I wish I would have discovered this bag years ago. In most cases I no longer need to carry a backpack AND a separate pelican case. I'm able to travel with just this bag.
Super solid
Finally to keep all of my gear and one transportable space. Very durable and ergonomic.
