Ideal for seamlessly slipping your 500-series modules onto a standard 19" rack enclosure, the PowerGrid Duo from Wave Distro is a 2-slot rack chassis with recessed slots to fit virtually any 500-series module. With a stereo link switch in the rear and balanced XLR and 1/4" TRS stereo I/O, this chassis can support virtually any module configuration.

The PowerGrid Duo provides up to 300mA of stable current per voltage rail, ensuring optimal performance of the modules in your chassis. Each slot gets a dedicated rear-panel ground-lift switch, which eliminates hum induced by grounding loops and interference. Its compact size means the PowerGrid Duo 2-slot chassis will only take up a mere 1 RU on standard 19" equipment racks, allowing you to utilize your available rack space more efficiently.

The DerrEsser ELDS-H from Empirical Labs is a horizontal multi-function dynamic filtering device , designed for API 500-Series enclosures. In its basic DS mode, it is an effective, level-insensitive de-esser, a device that will adjust the high-frequency gain on overly treble-y or spiky vocals or other sources in an extremely musical manner. However, unlike other de-essers, the device allows for multiple uses of its circuitry. As a de-esser in the DS mode (HF Limit OFF), the threshold can be set to tame harsh S's (sibilants) that result from an overly bright singer or from EQ'ing to make a vocal sound aggressive and clear. The DS threshold is not level dependant, and compares the amount of high-frequency content to the low-frequency content, so adjusting the overall level does not affect the threshold. It features VCA technology for glitch-free, distortion-free, and noise-free performance. The corner frequency is user adjustable with a high-performance active crossover.

In HF Limit mode, the DerrEsser essentially acts as a high-frequency compressor. If there is enough high-frequency content to exceed the threshold, then gain reduction occurs. It is level sensitive, but responds much more to high frequencies. This mode is more of a general high-frequency smoothing device. In high-pass mode and while using the LISTEN function, the user can employ the filter circuitry inside the DerrEsser to process their audio. With the LISTEN button in, and the HP/LP switch out, the user will be hearing the high frequencies that are being controlled with the dynamic/compression circuits. The corner frequency is adjustable with the frequency knob. In low-pass mode and with the LISTEN button in, and the HP/LP button in, the user is now listening to the low frequencies, those not affected by the VCA and dynamic/compression circuits. This is a 12 dB-per-octave filter whose corner frequency can again be adjusted with the frequency knob.

Sharing DNA with notable processors such as the Distressor, Arousor, and Mike-E, the PUMP from Empirical Labs is a classic, soft-knee-style VCA compressor designed with a horizontally oriented chassis for use with 500-series racks. Featuring eight ratios to choose from (2:1 to 20:1) and digitally stepped controls for easy recall, the PUMP is designed as a go-to compression processor, flexible enough to bend to the will of any creative endeavor.

The attack section provides speeds ranging from 200 µs to 40 ms, while the release section allows for 50 to 500 ms release times as well as an opto-coupler-style release. The compressor also includes extra features like a 70 Hz high-pass filter, a saturation soft clipper from the Mike-E, comprehensive gain reduction metering, bypass, and a unique attack modification (AtMod) feature derived from the Arousor plug-in and appearing in hardware for the first time.
