Sony E 11mm f/1.8 Reviews
Sony Support for the A6300???
The lens is great. Lightweight and very useful in tight quarters. My only issue is that Sony has not released a firmware upgrade for my A6300 to correct the distortion this lens creates.
A Wonderful Lens for Cramped Spaces
This is a very wide lens that is created for tight spaces. I like this lens because it is light and sharp. And with minimized lens distortion. Unfortunately, it is mostly made of plastic like what some people complained about but for me, it's fine because I like my lens light and I handle all my photo lenses with utmost care. I shoot mainly photographs and dark interiors with cramped spaces, so the aperture of f1.8 is very pleasing to have. I know of people who call this their vlogger's lens. But remember, this is not your everyday lens for photography but it's a wonderful lens to have when you're stuck in tight spaces.
Awesome on the Sony A7 IV
Bought this lens to get around the 4K 60p crop on my A7 IV. I'm now able to shoot video with a 16.5mm equivalent focal length @ 60p 10bit 4.2.2! Autofocus is top notch and video quality is great. This lens is a must for any A7 IV owner who wants to maximize their cameras capabilities. Finally a great workaround for the infamous A7 IV 60p crop!
Been Waiting for Something this Wide + Compact for a While!
Main reason I decide to leave my A6600 at home is that even with the smallest lens I have (Sigma 30MM), the camera setup can be bulky to carry around (At least compared to my Ricoh GR3 or iPhone). This lens allows me to have an even more compact setup with a wide and versatile lens. This lens is sharp, no fish eye distortion, and also does Macro surprisingly well. Check out the pictures!
Awesome on the FS7
I've used the lens now on 2 events and must say it's been great to use. Distortion isn't too much for my taste and the focus throw is fabulous. Having auto-focus which I rarely use was a plus. 11mm is plenty wide and the lens is light. Very happy with the purchase. I have a Rokinon 12mm 2.0 and will leave that for my Nikon mirrorless now.
Perfect for using on the ZV-E10 for Vlogging!!!
Some might look at this lens and think, no OSS, but the Active Steadyshot that many of Sony's APS-C cameras has is so good that it rivals the look of a gimbal. When you turn on the Active Steadyshot in the ZV-E10, for example, you lose 1.1X so the 16.5mm field of view becomes a more natural 18.1mm, which is better for arms length shooting, especially with the Sony remote grip. I think this lens is the best vlogging lens Sony has ever made, especially for the price!
Great wide angle travel lens
I wanted a small, light weight, fast lens for mostly travel and this lens fit the bill. I purchased it to use it with my Sony A6400 camera.
Best Vlogging Lens for APS-C Camera's
Love this Lens and it's Ultrawide Stance at F1.8 does make for an excellent Vlogging lens. I did a YouTube Video on this lens. Check out my unboxing at review on my channel Blackapino The Appleguy
