SmallRig 3884 Overview
This formfitting aluminum Camera Cage from SmallRig is a protective frame that enables you to mount accessories onto your camera without stressing its body. The cage features two shoe mounts on top and multiple 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threaded accessory-mounting threads around the cage. Access to the camera's controls, compartments, and connectors is maintained when the cage is fitted to the camera.
The camera mounts onto the cage using a 1/4"-20 camera screw on the bottom, and it features two side lock adapters to further secure the camera and prevent twisting. It also features strap holes to add a hand strap or neck strap. The underside of the cage incorporates both 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 tripod threads, and it features integrated Arca-type plates on the side and bottom for quick mounting onto an Arca-type tripod head. A magnetic flat screwdriver attaches to the cage for tightening or loosening the camera tie-down screws.

Solid protection
I purchased the CANON EOS R3 and felt I needed some extra protection. Very happy with the camera cage I never had a small rig camera cage on my Canon 1dx Mark 2 prior and now I want one for it. Solid construction. Doesn't add much more weight. My hands fit around the rig and it doesn't feel much different when using my R3. Very happy,
Prevents attachment of three pin cable release
Nice cage except it prevents attachment of three pin cable release. So I returned it.
