Supplied as a factory-matched pair of professional small-diaphragm cardioid condenser microphones, the ML-2A offers a flexible solution for mono or stereo recording across a broad range of instruments and applications.

Powered by the Virtual Microphone System plug-in, the ML-2A provides access to a comprehensive library of accurately modeled microphones. Engineers can audition and record through classic dynamics, ribbon microphones, small-diaphragm condensers, and large-diaphragm studio standards, all within their DAW and without committing to a single microphone sound during tracking.

The ML-2A is built with upgraded hardware and premium components for improved detail, greater dynamic range, and expanded versatility over previous designs. A gold-sputtered small-diaphragm cardioid capsule and low-noise electronics deliver clean, detailed capture with a flat, extended frequency response and consistent cardioid imaging.

Designed for demanding recording environments, the ML-2A handles extremely loud sources with ease. A built-in -20 dB pad supports recording up to 156 dB SPL, while an 80 Hz low-frequency roll-off filter helps reduce unwanted rumble and low-end buildup directly at the microphone.

Each ML-2A set is delivered as a factory-selected matched pair with corresponding serial numbers, ensuring reliable stereo imaging. An included stereo mounting bar simplifies setup for stereo recording of drum overheads, acoustic instruments, ensembles, and ambient sources in both studio and on-location sessions.

Zero-latency processing allows you to monitor through microphone models while tracking, with the ability to change or refine mic choices later during mixing. This approach supports efficient workflows and creative flexibility without locking in decisions too early.

The ML-2A includes access to 27 microphone models within the Virtual Microphone System plug-in, covering both industry standards and creative options. Users can compare microphones instantly, blend characteristics from multiple models, and expand their mic collection over time as new models are added through software updates.
