Sky-Watcher AZ-EQ5 Overview
The Sky-Watcher AZ-EQ5 Mount Head + Pier Tripod & Riser Kit from is the full AZ-EQ5 system, which includes a motor controller with high torque and accuracy. The system has a 30 lb payload capacity and handles most mid-range OTAs. It offers German equatorial, Alt-Az, and dual-OTA modes. A key feature is permanent periodic error correction (PPEC). The system's belt drive delivers a smooth PE curve with low backlash and silent slewing. A retractable counterweight bar and a counterweight extension bar are included. Dual SNAP shutter release ports are provided for batch exposures of astrophotos. Also included are two V-style saddles for mounting dual OTAs. Dual encoders with Freedom Find technology allow for manual control without alignment loss.

Sky-Watcher AZ-EQ5 Pier Tripod
The Sky-Watcher AZ-EQ5 Pier Tripod supports the AZ-EQ5 mount head for mid-range telescope OTAs. It consists of a tripod and sturdy pier extension. Thanks to the pier extension that sits on top, the tripod enables the optional AZ-EQ5 head to be polar-aligned at almost any latitude by elevating the mount head away from the tripod legs.
