Sirui 50mm F/1.8 Anamorphic Overview
This 50mm f/1.8 Super35 Anamorphic 1.33x Lens from Sirui adds 1.33x anamorphic squeeze to your images to achieve standard 2.4:1 widescreen aspect ratios. Designed for Super35/APS-C cameras with a Leica L mount, the lens features an aperture range of f/1.8 to f/16. A lens construction of 11 elements in 8 groups creates the characteristic, stretched oval bokeh of anamorphic lenses for a unique cinematic look.
The focus ring is capable of rotating 143.6° for intuitive control. A 67mm filter thread allows you to add compatible filters and customize your exposure. Markings on the lens are in both feet and meters. When used with a full-frame sensor, the 50mm lens is equivalent to a 53mm lens horizontally.

nice picture
just mount and shoot! if your camera is in the 16:9 mode, the picture on the preview screen looks almost like with a normal lense. in post, you'll desqueeze and baam.. got the cinematic look. only one downside, you'll need a diopter and an adapter ring to shoot close ups.
Great buy
An anamorphic lens is an essential tool for anyone seriously interested in shooting video, and the Sirui 50mm is an excellent choice for the price. Using it on my Panasonic Lumix G9, I've found it works very well for both stills and video.
A great Anamorphic lens
For the price, the quality of the image is outstanding. It gives you this cinematic anamorphic Bokeh that makes all the difference. If your camera can correct the 1.33x distortion it will make your shots even more enjoyable. My Atomos Ninja can easily do it.
A fantastic lens!
I love shooting with this thing. Gives all of my work a fun twist and makes a visually interesting picture. It may not be perfect, but its character delivers so much.
Fun lens
This is such a fun lens! You can get some really fun looks from it, and the clarity is pretty solid. Granted, it's no GM glass, but still high quality and I use it for high end creative projects.
Magic with FX3
Recently did a music video shoot mostly shot with this lens, and reviewing the footage made my jaw drop. The separation between subject and background is so beautiful. Add a pro mist filter and it feels like a true pleasing "cinematic" image that is difficult to explain in words. The flaring is there but not exaggerated, you really have to try to get the flares which I like. I was bummed it's not a 2x squeeze, but honestly it's kind of perfect for what you get at 1.33x. If you're looking to get into anamorphic without breaking the bank, I would highly recommend this lens.
