Designed with many installer-recommended features, the Simply45 ProSeries All-In-One RJ45 Crimp Tool is used for terminating all shielded and unshielded pass-through and standard WE/SS (8P8C) RJ45 modular plugs. It features a tool lock, click-lock socket, external ground crimping socket, blade storage in the handle, and several other key features that make for a reliable and efficient tool.
The all-in-one tool is built to provide consistent flush-to-the-plug wire trimming over time. Even force is delivered to the trimming blades by the synchronized crimp tool handles. The tool uses a diamond-polished hardened steel trimming blade, and a fixed blade position alignment ensures no adjustments are required. These and many other features ensure more flush and consistent wire trimming over many termination cycles. This tool works with Simply45 and 3rd-party plugs, but it is not compatible with 3rd-party external ground shielded plugs nor with Platinum Tools ezEX plugs.
Note:
Not compatible with 3rd-party external ground shielded plugs and with Platinum Tools ezEX plugs.
Locking Crimp Socket
A locking socket securely holds the RJ45 modular plug in the correct position for crimping. When you insert the shield with the external ground plug, you will hear a click sound. This lets you know that the plug is in the proper position for termination.
Sliding Tool Lock
A convenient sliding tool lock holds the crimp tool in its closed position when not in use. This prevents the crimp tool from inadvertent opening and is useful for storage in an installers kit.
Blade Storage in the Handle
A storage box is built into the crimp tool handle and holds new trimming blades and cutting blades.
Crimping Socket for External Ground Arm
Shielded RJ45 modular plugs with external ground have an arm that extends from the back of the plug. This arm is then crimped to the cable jacket to help secure the terminated plug permanently to the LAN cable. Most RJ45 crimp tools require you to use a separate crimp tool to secure the external ground arm to the LAN cable. But this ProSeries crimp tool has a built-in crimping socket for the external ground arm.
Ratcheted for Full Compression Cycle
A ratcheted crimp tool requires the installer to complete the full crimping cycle. While some RJ45 brands are eliminating this feature with their crimp tools, this ProSeries crimp tool includes it to prevent incomplete plug termination. A ratcheted crimp tool is critical to ensuring that the RJ45 pins are properly seated onto the wire conductors and the pass-through wires are properly trimmed.
Synchronized Handles
Synchronized handles compress together during the crimping cycle, allowing consistent and even force to be delivered directly to the plug socket and the wire trimming. The result is a smoother, faster, and easier crimping process. The tool handles open up to 4.25", ensuring more force with less hand effort during the crimping cycle. In contrast to Cat 5e cables, Cat 6 or Cat 6a cables usually require both hands to squeeze strongly to complete the crimp cycle. For this, a standard crimp tool that uses only one handle to generate the crimping force just may not work well. But this ProSeries tool uses both handles in tandem to deliver the crimping force with much less effort. You'll be able to easily crimp Cat 6 cables with one hand, and this enables you to complete many terminations in a day with less fatigue.
Steel Reinforced for Greater Stability
The ProSeries crimp tool is wrapped with reinforced steel to ensure tool stability during the crimping cycle. When crimp tools use various inserts, a lot of instability is introduced during the crimping cycle. Over time, this instability causes poorer wire trims and incomplete RJ45 pin setting onto the wire conductors. Crimp tool stability results in a smoother crimping cycle, better pin sets, more consistent wire trimming, and greater durability over time.
Improved Trimming Blade Design
Even force is delivered to the trimming blades by the synchronized crimp tool handles.
Wire Alignment Pattern
Simply45 laser engraves the wire alignment patterns Type A/B right under the crimping socket. The pattern is also listed to match how the RJ45 modular plug is inserted into the tool. This makes it easy to provide one last check to be sure the wires are properly aligned inside the plug before crimping, eliminating the error of putting the wire alignment upside down into the plug.
Easy Blade Changing
Dull and worn-out blades are among the primary causes for improper wire trimming on pass-through RJ45 modular plugs. Simply45 found that one of the biggest complaints of professional installers is the complexity and time-consuming process of changing the trimming blades on some pass-through crimp tools. This ProSeries crimp tool makes blade changing quick and easy. You can change the trimming blade in only about 30 seconds, with just one screw and no adjustments needed. This makes it easier to change the trimming blades more often.
Set Strain Reliefs/Boots During Crimping Cycle
With this Simply45 ProSeries crimp tool, integrated strain reliefs/boots are crimped to the RJ45 modular plug during the crimping cycle. The process is fast and secure. Using strain reliefs (boots) is very important to protect the RJ45 modular plug termination. The Simply45 integrated strain reliefs are narrow, the same width as the RJ45 modular plug. This is ideal for multi-port patch panels, as you can easily insert and remove the plug from the jacks.
Multifunction
The S45-C101 ProSeries crimp tool also includes a built-in wire cutter and wire stripper.
Ergonomic Grip
The ergonomic grip is designed to reduce hand fatigue and slippage.
