Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG DN OS Overview
Ideal for wildlife, sports, landscapes, motorsports, and countless other photographic endeavors, the Leica L-mount 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG DN OS Sports Lens from Sigma offers the features and image quality that professionals demand. This lens provides high rendering throughout the entire zoom range at all apertures, and ghosting, flare, and various types of aberrations are all well controlled. An updated and redesigned autofocus system offers both speed and precision by incorporating an AF actuator driven by a stepping motor, as well as a high-precision magnetic sensor. Optical image stabilization delivers approximately four stops of compensation, with two standard OS modes for both handheld shooting and panning situations. A new Zoom Torque switch gives users the option to adjust the level of zoom ring resistance from Lock (locked at the wide end for transport), Tight (prevents zoom creep), and Smooth (for easy, smooth zooming). Additional on-lens controls include a Focus Limiter switch, OS Mode switch, Custom switch for custom OS settings, and three customizable AFL buttons.
As part of the Sigma Global Vision Sports line of lenses, the 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG DN OS Sports Lens is specifically designed for everyday use in challenging conditions. A dust and splash resistant structure protects the lens against water and dust intrusion, and a water and oil repellant coating on the front element resists moisture and fingerprints. Barrel construction consists of aluminum and TSC (Thermally Stable Composite) for an ideal combination of toughness and improved portability. Additionally, a magnesium tripod socket with a removable Arca-type foot and 90° click stops provides a sturdy support option.

Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG DN OS Reviews
So Far so Great
This lens was purchased right before a trip where we would be going by some castles. I watched a lot of youtube reviews comparing this lens to Sony's 200-600 GM and tamron's 150-500mm lens. After a lot of going in circles I choose this lens over the others as it retained the full 600mm range but was significantly less expensive than the Sony GM. Obviously that lens was the first choice but I am not a pro, I probably barely count as an hobby photographer. So the Sigma won in the end. I think this lens is great. When I didn't mess up by having too slow of a shutter speed or get blasted by wind right when I went to snap the shot, the images it grabs are great. I tried uploading some photos but it errored out every time, sorry. For reference I am using the lens on a Sony a6500. Maybe that is silly as well but someday I would like to upgrade to a full frame and I'm sure the lens will still be awesome then. Some considerations. This lens is large and quite heavy. I was shooting it handheld but used railings to brace my arms when possible. Also as I mentioned above, it is large enough that a strong gust of wind will push the lens. That was an interesting experience coming from the tiny lenses I am used to. One little edge over the sony here is it is slightly smaller when not zoomed. Because it is external zoom the length is shorter and makes it a little easier to fit into a bag. I was actually able to fit it into the bottom compartment of the Brevite bag with my camera body and sigma 30 f1.4 when they were separated. Wrap it up. I would recommend this lens to anyone who wants to be able to get a full 600mm of zoom and isn't looking to drop $2K+. It isn't as cool as the sony because it isn't white :P but that is ok.
Lighter than my prior Canon versions but lock switch faulty
Title says it all. It won't lock very well at the Smooth, Torque and Lock positions. Too bad; it's a great super zoom otherwise.
Dream Lens
wooow just woooooow
Forget teleconverters. Just buy this.
Is this as good as a fixed aperture f4? No. It also doesn't cost $12k. The Sigma 150-600 S is maybe the best value lens I've owned. The image stabilization works very well - the two photos attached to this review were handheld at 600mm in fading light (on a Panasonic S1R that also has IS). I wish it was internal zoom and weighed half as much, but that's not realistic, and IMO it crushes the 100-400 image quality. Of course, it also gives you that extra 200mm on the long end. I haven't used it with continuous AF tracking enough to comment on that aspect, but all other AF functions have worked just like the Panasonic lenses for me. I'm quite happy with this lens. I did have some AF compatibility issues when mounting it on the APS-C Leica TL2, but I think that is an issue with the older Leica not recognizing all the data coming from the lens. I have no reason to think it's an issue on the lens side. The padded carry bag that comes with it is very nice, if enormous. I also like the unique hood/fabric lens cap combo (it also includes a conventional lens cap if you prefer that). Generally, I prefer staying 100% native glass, but the L mount system is working out nicely here between Panasonic and Sigma. I also have the 70-200 f2.8 and a 2x TC, but greatly prefer this lens. For $1500 USD this is a no-brainer for those shooting FF L Mount and looking for that extra reach. Just be aware of possible miscommunication with certain Leica bodies.
Awesome
It's heavy, but it is what it is - a necessarily large, complicated machine with a lot of glass. Not down-rating for weight, because it's probably as light as currently technology (and the limits of physics) permits. But a marvelous lens with some very nice details! (Like the strap lugs, focus zone selection, and the noticeable detent at the cardinal points when rotating the lens in its collar.)
Neighbours look out (LOL)
Really enjoying this lens. The first thing I loved is that you can Lock the zoom make it smooth or make it hard at the flip of a switch. I wish my 24/90 SL lens didi that photos are extremely sharp and the Leica MaestroIII does its job and the renditions are amazing for the price of the lens
Excelent
Great lens, a bit heavy but super sharp and nice bokeh
Sharp, Fast & Well-Built - Excellent Value
I purchased this for my Sony A7IV. The Sigma 150-600mm performs flawlessly, focusing on human, bird, and animal eyes quickly and accurately. I use it primarily for landscapes, but have found it works equally well with wildlife. Hard to find any fault with this lens. An excellent alternative to Sony's 200-600mm.
