Basic Tips for Recording Audio for Video | Audio for Video, Part 1 Choosing a Mic for Video Production | Audio for Video, Part 2 How to Get Great Audio Levels | Audio for Video, Part 3 Recording Sound to Your Camera vs. an Audio Recorder | Audio for Video, Part 4
The ultra-compact Sennheiser AVX-835 SET provides professional videographers, video journalists, or vloggers with a dependable wireless microphone system that's so easy to use, it's like having a dedicated sound engineer on set handling audio tasks.
Made with simplicity in mind, but without compromising audio quality, this self-configuring digital system handles time-consuming frequency setup and mic-level adjustments for you, so you're ready to shoot within seconds. Now, you can focus on the other critical elements vying for your attention during a shoot, and confidently record crisp, clear audio on your camcorder, DSLR, or mirrorless camera.
This set features a camera-mount receiver and a handheld transmitter equipped with an MMD 835 cardioid capsule, ideal in situations where you don't have time to position a lavalier mic or you need to quickly pass the mic between several people, including wedding and corporate videos or red carpet and man-on-the-street style interviews in noisy environments.
- The lightweight AVX system is easy to carry with you when every ounce counts. The robust handheld transmitter features a rugged metal chassis, a convenient mute switch, and a display that shows battery life and signal strength.
- The discreet receiver plugs directly into the XLR input of your camcorder and rotates 320° to get out of the way of lights or other accessories you may have mounted on your camera. An AF button on the receiver allows you to adjust the output level to your camera, if necessary. In addition, the receiver comes with a shoe mount and 3.5mm output cable, making it a great fit for DSLR and mirrorless shooters.
Automatically Finds a Clean Channel
- The digital AVX automatically finds the cleanest frequency in the 1.9 GHz band as soon as you power up the receiver.
Fast Pairing
- A long press of the Pair button on both receiver and transmitter links the two devices. Once the indicator LED turns green, youre good to go.
(Note that the AVX is a peer-to-peer system, meaning the transmitter can only be paired with one receiver).
- The handheld transmitter features an interchangeable MMD 835 dynamic capsule that delivers a natural sound optimized for speech intelligibility. Its directional cardioid polar pattern helps to reject unwanted background sound, making it ideal in loud environments such as trade-show floors, busy public areas, or sporting events.
- For outdoor interviews or situations when you're moving the mic quickly between speakers, you can swap out the included 835 cardioid capsule for the MMD 42 capsule (available separately) which offers improved wind protection, less handling noise, and a more forgiving omnidirectional pickup pattern.
- The AVX's automatic mic-level control takes full advantage of the system's wide dynamic range to deliver consistent speech without clipping and distortion, even when your talent goes from a whisper to a shout.
- The system delivers 24-bit/48 kHz audio with an extended 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response, for pristine, nuanced recordings.
Protected Wireless Transmission
- The AVX operates in the license-free 1.9 GHz bandaway from TV and Wi-Fi interferenceto create a wireless peer-to-peer connection, for clean audio without dropouts at a range up to 98.
- The system automatically finds the cleanest frequency, free from RF interference.
- If interference is detected, the AVX automatically increases the power on the transmitterup to 250 mWto overcome the problem.
- If the increase in power isnt sufficient, the system substitutes a clear frequency well before the audio signal itself is affected, for clean, worry-free sound.
- The AVX transmitter and receiver both feature removable, lithium-ion batteries that are recharged via the USB port.
- The transmitter gives you up to 15 hours of battery life, while the receiver is limited to 4 hours.
- The receiver turns itself on and off when it senses phantom power from your camcorder, extending battery life in the field.
- The transmitter and receiver can also be powered through their USB ports allowing them to run for numerous hours on a USB power pack or indefinitely if you have access to AC.
- The included BA 10 battery for the transmitter and BA 20 for the receiver are also available separately, so you can have fully charged spare batteries ready in the field.
- Up to eight AVX systems can operate simultaneously in the same area
- AES 256-bit encryption for secure communication
