The sE8 omni is a small-diaphragm condenser microphone with a hand-made, gold-sputtered omnidirectional capsule. Suitable for recording individual instruments, ensembles, or an entire orchestra, the sE8 omni has been engineered to provide a balanced, transparent, and natural sound as well as a detailed transient response. With two microphones matched specifically for consistency, you'll be able to capture a clear and accurate stereo image.
The sE8 omni boasts inherently low self-noise for meeting the demands of high-resolution digital recording. It also accommodates a max SPL high enough to handle drums, and a dynamic range large enough to record triple-piano to triple-forte velocities accurately. Signal quality can be optimized via onboard switches for the pad and low-cut filter, each equipped with two settings other than flat. To enhance durability�and to reject electrical interference and noise�the sE8 omni utilizes an all-metal chassis. The gold-plated XLR output connector ensures signal reliability for a long time to come.

Every capsule is handcrafted and individually tuned in the sE factory with the highest attention to detail. The ultrathin gold-sputtered diaphragm delivers an impressive transient response that enables capturing even the smallest of nuances. With an ultra-precision electrode, the sE8 omni is optimized for superb linearity and natural sound, ensuring a consistently smooth and balanced frequency response.
Low Self-Noise
Sophisticated electronic design and specially optimized Class-A electronics provide extremely low noise without the use of integrated circuits. The transformerless design enables excellent transparency and clarity, and a completely new electronic design also ensures a beyond-the-norm dynamic range and excellent transient response without distortion.
Two-Position Pad
The -10 and -20 dB switchable attenuation pad prevents overloading your preamp or mixer and provides extended dynamic range without compromises. Two switchable levels enable close-mic techniques for even the loudest sources like brass instruments, timpani, and drums.
Low-Cut Filters
Selectable at either 80 or 160 Hz, these two filters help eliminate low-frequency rumble or footfall noise as well as help compensate for excessive bass (proximity effect) with close-mic techniques.
