Popular among professional audio engineers, the matte gray Schoeps Colette CMC 1 L Microphone Amplifier and MK 4V Cardioid Capsule Set is an ultracompact, space-saving Colette Series modular microphone bundle that includes the CMC 1 L (mini LEMO output) miniature microphone amplifier, MK 4V side-address cardioid mic capsule, K 5 LU LEMO to XLR 3-pin male cable, SGC miniature stand mount with swivel, B 5 solid-foam popscreen, and a premium case for secure transport and storage.
Created in answer to requests for a cardioid with its main axis along the side, the MK 4V capsule features a mild high-frequency-response elevation, making it ideal as a spot microphone for orchestra recording. In addition to its usefulness in the concert hall, this capsule type is of particular value in speech recording, since its slight emphasis around 10 kHz helps to improve intelligibility.
Thanks to the inclusion of the ultracompact CMC 1 L amplifier, this bundle serves as a lighter and smaller alternative to the acclaimed CMC 6 amplifier, without compromising sonic performance.
The matte gray Schoeps CMC 1 L is a miniature Colette Series microphone amplifier offering uncompromising high fidelity in a lightweight and ultracompact form factor for studio recording, broadcast, and live stage applications. Presented as an alternative to the renowned Schoeps CMC 6 amplifier, the CMC 1 L is compatible with all existing MK mic capsules and Colette active accessories (all available separately).
It features a balanced mini LEMO output, compliance with 12V or 48V phantom power, and low current consumption. Its Schoeps RFI Shield provides high immunity from RF interference for a clean, low-noise signal. The CMC 1 L supports the high maximum SPLs tolerated by the various MK mic capsules (available separately). A stand adapter and a 16.4' mini LEMO to XLR 3-pin male adapter cable are supplied with the CMC 1 L.
The Schoeps MK4V is part of the Colette series of modular capsules designed for use with the CMC6 preamplifier. The radial design is a direct result of the demand for a cardioid capsule where the maximum pick up occurs on the side as opposed to the front (top) of the capsule. The acoustically transparent housing is particularly effective in reducing high frequency signal energy at the off-axis sections of the capsule, a common problem among standard cardioid elements. The linear frequency response features a slight rise at 10KHz, which enhances presence and intelligibility. The cardioid lateral pick up and high frequency response characteristics render the MK4V more than viable for speech, general instrument capturing, mono and stereo ambiance capturing.
This gray Solid Foam Teardrop Popscreen from Schoeps is an acoustic foam close-speech popscreen intended for use with Schoeps Colette Series microphones, but compatible with other microphone capsules as well. It provides sufficient protection at normal speaking distances for cardioids and other directional capsules, especially when speech capsules are used. With omnidirectional capsules, it may even be used outdoors in light wind. This popscreen has minimal effect on sound quality.
