For mobile video creators in need of a cost-effective and unobtrusive upgrade from their device's built-in mic, the Saramonic Vmic Mini II shotgun microphone offers a compact solution that keeps your rig light and nimble. This second-generation version has been upgraded with a Rycote Lyre Dual Suspension Shockmount and furry windscreen and mounts directly to DSLR, mirrorless, and video cameras, or to smartphones and tablets with an adapter (available separately).
Plug-and-play operation makes it extremely easy to use right out of the box; the mic operates on plug-in power from your camera or mobile device. With no batteries to install or charge, and no buttons or switches to operate, you can immediately start recording your YouTube videos, Facebook Live streams, and interviews, at home or on the go. The Vmic Mini II includes two 3.5mm cablesa TRS cable for use with cameras and a TRS to TRRS cable to allow proper hookup to a smartphone or tablet equipped with a headphone jack.
Tiny Microphone with Big Sound
The Vmic Mini II is extremely compact and lightweight, making it ideal for use with modern smaller cameras and mobile devices. Perfect for run-and-gun shooting, its unobtrusive, adding very little weight to your camera, and even allows you to keep mounted on the camera in your bag or case. It features a high-quality 14mm capsule with a generous signal-to-noise ratio of 75 dB, and an impressive sensitivity of -35 dB. Its cardioid polar pattern picks up sound in front of the mic, while rejecting extraneous audio from the rear and sides, giving users a wider pickup than other on-camera mics and more audio flexibility when shooting on camera, or when mounted on a boom pole or stand.
Plug-and-Play Ease of Use for Cameras, Mobile Devices, and More
The Vmic Mini II includes both TRS and TRRS output cables; TRS for cameras, recorders, mixers, and many other audio devices, and TRRS for smartphones, tablets, and modern computers. Easily pair the TRRS cable with a Lightning or USB-C dongle (not included) for use with mobile devices that don't have a 3.5mm headphone jack. Just plug the microphone in and start recording. There are no batteries to install or charge, and there are no buttons or switches to operate.
High-Quality Dual Lyre Shockmount for Real Support and Suspension
The Vmic Mini II's rugged and adjustable shockmount is designed to give you the best suppression of handling noise and vibrations. It features not one, but two Rycote Lyre Suspension Mounts for rock-solid performance, and the mic will not sag or wobble like many other mini shotgun mics with just one suspension mount. It features a cold shoe mount for on-camera mounting and a 1/4"-20 thread for mounting on boom poles and stands. It also features a handy cable clip inside the mount to keep the cable tidy when in use.
Ready for Wind, Weather, and All Your Adventures
The Vmic Mini II includes an advanced furry windscreen, featuring a foam and mesh inner layer and furry-hair outer layer. The windjammer is designed for a higher level of protection from wind noise, to help to protect the microphone from weather and dust, and to keep it securely fastened in place while on the go. Under the windscreen is lightweight aluminum alloy construction, making the Vmic Mini II a rugged and reliable on-camera microphone that you can depend on.
