This product is very good
Works well
I purchased this enclosure to fix a WD Passport that had stopped working. As noted by The Angry Photographer, the disks that WD puts in the Passport are usually excellent, but the USB interface is very cheaply made. Tearing apart the Passport (very difficult) I was able to extract the HDD and access it (and repurpose it) with this enclosure. I've done r/w tests and this enclosure performs quite well considering its low price. Note that this enclosure does not have any shock-absorbing materials to protect the HDD, so you need to treat it accordingly. HDDs are fragile. The act of placing one on a hard surface subjects the HDD to serious forces. Always put the drive on a soft surface (like your antistatic mat) to avoid that click when the drive touches the surface. That leads me to the reason I knocked off a star; Sabrent should have included some stick-on rubber feet to protect the drive when the enclosure is placed on a hard surface. Pick up some feet at your local hardware or hobby store and you will be good to go.
