Rode NTG2 Complete Shotgun Microphone HDSLR Kit

The NTG2 Complete Shotgun Microphone HDSLR Kit is a B&H Kit designed to eliminate the guesswork in configuring a shotgun microphone system for the new breed of video enabled DSLR and other interchangeable lens cameras. It delivers quality and reliability while remaining cost effective.

The NTG2 from Rode NTG2 is the featured shotgun microphone in this kit, supported by a universal shockmount, universal hand grip, cabled boom pole, windscreen, a right angled XLR cable and a impedance matching transformer cable for use with the video HDSLR. Rounding out the kit is a neoprene bag made to carry a boompole.

The kit is an all-in-one solution for event videos, budget film work, budget broadcasting, Electronic News Gathering (ENG) and field production applications that use an HDSLR camera. It can be used either on-camera, or as part of a secondary recording system.

• Rode NTG2 Battery or Phantom Powered Condenser Shotgun Microphone

  The Rode NTG2 is a condenser shotgun microphone designed for professional audio capturing in the field or indoors. With a history of manufacturing quality studio microphones, Rode has implemented low noise output electronics and wide bandwidth, both of which attribute to the NTG2's broadcast sound quality.

  The super-cardioid polar pattern and line plus gradient acoustic principle effectively minimize audio and noise at the off-axis (sides) of the microphone, while the front of the capsule accurately reproduces incoming audio signal. The result is greater intelligibility and signal-to-noise ratio when using the NTG2 in noisy environments.

  The NTG2 is powered with an internal 1.5V AA size battery or an external +48 Volt phantom power source. The output is a standard 3-pin XLR male connector.

  The microphone features a rugged, all metal, lightweight enclosure that is ideal for camera mounting yet durable enough to withstand the rigors of heavy road use. The Rode NTG2 is packaged with a microphone stand mount and windscreen.

  The Auray DUSM-1 Universal Shockmount features a four-point suspension to accommodate shotgun and other cylindrical microphones measuring 0.74-0.98" (19-25mm) in diameter. • Auray Universal Microphone Pistol Grip

  The Auray Universal Microphone Pistol Grip is a handheld grip that features an ergonomic cushioned handle. This grip is great in "run & gun" situations in which a boom pole would be cumbersome, and in video scenarios in which the cameraman is also responsible for audio recording. The grip can be held with one hand, as opposed to a boom pole which requires two. It also provides the option of being able to record audio from a different direction than the camera is pointing, an advantage over camera mounting the mic. Furthermore, having the mic mounted off the camera prevents it from picking up motor noise from the lens focusing.
  
  In addition, the grip features standard 3/8" threads on both ends. This allows you to attach your shotgun mic (with shockmount) to one end of the grip and mount the other end to a boom pole.
