Really Right Stuff BA1-LS Overview
The Modular L-Plate Set for Sony Alpha a1 from Really Right Stuff is a modular system that combines a traditional camera mounting plate with the added flexibility of a vertical L-Component to create a fully modular L-bracket. The L-bracket design features an Arca-type compatible dovetail on each component to facilitate easy, fast, and stable switching between horizontal and vertical shooting orientations when mounted to the top of a tripod head or compatible clamp. The open design maintains access to the camera's side ports and battery door without obstructing the tilting LCD screen. A QD socket is located on the bottom of the plate to quickly connect a camera strap with the universal Quick Disconnect system. Made of CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum, the components feature a black anodized finish that resists abrasions and corrosion.

It's a RRS L plate, not much more to add. It's the best there is.
Excellent Quality and Rapid delivery by .
This part is what I need for A7SIII exactly, and allows me to remove vertical rail from horizontal base whenever I expecting flip screen can be rotating to any angle. After removed vertical piece part, the flip screen won't be blocked. When you inserted vertical into base, I can install camera on sidekick gimbal head rigidly. With gimbal head, PG-01, the flip screen rotating angle is restricted but it is fine because of the camera kit rotating controlled by gimbal. provided a excellent quality product and fast delivery to me. It is very awesome.
Worth the wait!
Eight months to the day after preordering this L-bracket it finally arrived! In the mean time I was using a SunwayFoto L-bracket meant for the A7RIV on my A1 (it fit properly). The great thing about the RRS L-bracket is it covers the whole bottom of the camera while still allowing you to access the battery. For people with big hands and those who want a little more protection on their camera body, this is a good product. It feels incredibly solid with no movement at all once it's attached to the camera body. Also, it looks great! However, this L-bracket is pretty expensive compared to most, and some may not feel the price is worth it.
Disappointing
Took 10 months to receive which wasn't 's fault. I followed up directly with RRS and their customer service was terrible. Finally one of their staff admitted they messed up the design and had to restart the production. The design is not as well thought through as previous models I've received. The finger rest is just plain uncomfortable. Honestly I'd look at the many other cheaper options these days.
Fits Alpha A7 iv
Bought this for the A7 iv. To my eye it seems to fit that camera body too, even though it isn't listed as being compatible. I haven't noticed anything to indicate it isn't fully compatible. I can open the battery compartment and everything seems to align well around the battery grip.
