PolarPro Peter McKinnon 2 to 5 Stop VND Ed2 Overview
The 95mm Peter McKinnon Signature Edition Variable ND 0.6 to 1.5 Filter from PolarPro is designed for lenses with 95mm front filter threads and provides an exposure reduction of 2 to 5 stops. The 0.6 to 1.5 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than usually possible. The degree of density is easily controlled by rotating the front filter ring, helping to predetermine the additional exposure length required. By slowing the exposure time, you convey movement or increase the blur. By increasing the aperture, the image depth of field can be more easily controlled. For easier, repeatable control over density settings, the front ring features a numbered scale of the stop values, and it also features haptic feedback to feel a click when reaching a number without the need to look at the ring. The ring features side knurling for a secure grip and to further enable fast and precise positioning, and it is designed to prevent any rotation beyond the stop values etched on it.
This filter is constructed from quartz glass for enhanced durability. To prevent internal ghosting and reflections, 16 layers of antireflective coatings offer scratch protection to the filter substrate while promoting clarity and color fidelity. The coatings also provide improved beading when in contact with water or oil, allowing for more efficient cleaning.
The quartz optics are set within an aluminum alloy filter ring assembly for lightweight durability. The unique Defender 360 hybrid case/cover is included for storage and transport and acts as both a front cap when the filter is in place on a lens and as a rigid dustproof and waterproof storage case by adding the rear cover when the filter is not in use.

Premium variable ND
Didn't see as much X pattern as my PolaPro or other ND systems like Canon's EF-RF adapter. Note - there is some slight X pattern (but that's just how vari-ND operate) but not NEARLY as much, thanks many to the hard stops as ANY other brand.

Edition II
Filter is nice but totally dislike the filter cap on edition II as it's too tight and very difficult to remove. I prefer the first edition.
Works great, but pricey for sure
If you are trying to decide between this one and the pro mist, go with this one. I went pro mist first and regret it. It is just barely misty and only looks unsharp. this one is much better imo.
Killer Quality
Great product quality. Everything, even the package, feels strong and well manufactured. The design is form fitting and the clicks of the adjustment make it easy to use. The only product change I would make is the sleeve/rubber container it arrives in. It's difficult to remove and put back. So while the rubberized packaging helps keep it safe, it's a pain to get in and out of.
Does not work with the 28-70mm RF f2.0 Lens
Tried using this filter with my Canon 28-70mm RF f2.0 Lens. The threading pitch is not compatible. It almost cross threaded my lens. Looks like from other reviews you need to buy an adapter. This filter is already so expensive and heavy, they really should just make a version that works with this lens or give you the adapter for free.
Amazing ND filter
Not cheap but you get what you pay for. Outstanding quality that improves almost every image. Very easy to work with due to notched stops. Was recommended to me and I love it
Gorgeous filter, stupid 95mm thread issue
As mentioned in another review, the thread pitch specifically on the 95mm filter is non-standard. I'm not sure why they did this. PolarPro advises you to get their 95mm/1-95mm conversion ring, which then renders the fancy screw-on case the filter is designed around, unusable, unless you take the step-down conversion ring off every time. So. Dumb.
