Point Source Audio CM-i3 Reviews
Works Great!
I'm extremely happy with my point source. The buds that come with it aren't my favorite but you can easily switch them out with Shure 215s without having to rerun the cable through the casing.
Incredible
My biggest issue with traditional broadcast headsets were the usability, being the lack of it. By the end of a show, the headsets would barely stay on my head because I was hot and sweaty. This headset is fantastic. I don't have to worry about it falling of. I can run with a steadicam and not have to pick up my headset after the shot. Highly recommend this.
Works great!
Works great and is extremely comfortable. Better than the other head crushers out there. Only wish that the cable was a little longer.
Fantastic Headphones!
I bought these because I was fed up with he cheap telex headsets provided by the various remote production trucks that never work. They are comfortable to wear on those long 18 hour days and you can hear everything despite the constant white noise being put out by engineering into the reply/edit room. I highly recommend these for anyone living/working inside a remote production truck!
Comm Comfort!
This headset fits well, sounds good and doesn't even feel like it's there...no head-pinching!
Life-changing headset!
If you're a geek like me and you want to use your in-ears with your comms headset, or if you just find the typical on-ear/over-ear headsets uncomfortable, this headset is a must-get. The comfort level and flexibility of this headset makes it worth every penny! I'm rating it 4 stars for the following reasons: - The cable is really short. It's perfect for using a belt back for me, and I'm 5' 10, but there's barely any extra cable. I would prefer a bit of a longer cable. - The included in-ears are mediocre at best. I didn't buy this headset for the in-ears, because I have my own I use with it, but I wish I could either save a bit of money and buy the headset without in ears included, or I would hope for the included ones to be better quality. They have subpar sound quality to my Shure SE215 universal fits, and the bids and largest tips are still too small for my large ear (where I have no issues with my Shure SE215). - I wish the mic came on the right side of the headset by default. You can change this, but I've been told it's quite an ordeal to do, so I am just leaving it as is. Maybe the option to purchase a left-side or right-side option would be good. It may sound like there are a lot of downsides, but I can promise that the life-changing benefits greatly outweigh the cons. I have nit picks and things I'd love to see improved upon on future generations, but I wouldn't think twice about buying this headset.
Great for long shows
This intercom headset is fantastic for long shows (ie. concerts, presentations, etc.). I work as a freelance camera operator, and when running handheld it's very useful to be able to hear intercom in both ears. With the standard headset, you would have to wear an earplug and single muff headset.
Comfortable
The headset itself is comfortable and clear. However the chord that comes with it is far too short. I therefore purchased the 10' extension but then as 2 weighty XLRs are joining, that connection needs to be tied off or will pull on the headset.
