Designed for media storage, use as a boot drive, or as a replacement for an existing drive, the 4TB CS900 SATA III 2.5" Internal SSD from PNY Technologies allows users to store and access up to 4TB of data. It is equipped with a SATA III 6 Gb/s interface that is compatible with SATA II 3 Gb/s and fits into your system's 2.5" / 7mm drive bay, providing load and access times for files and programs that are faster than those of a traditional spinning hard drive. In terms of speed, this drive offers sequential write speeds of up to 540 MB/s and sequential read speeds of up to 560 MB/s. In addition to its enhanced data transfer rates, this drive also offers a life expectancy of 2 million hours MTBF, TRIM support (OS dependent), and S.M.A.R.T support.
With solid-state drive technology you benefit from load and access times for your files and programs that are faster than a conventional 7200 rpm hard drive. As SSDs have no moving parts, they are also more durable than traditional hard drives and are better protected against damage from drops and bumps. Affordable for a good product
After trying the PNY SSD for one year, I can tell it is a good product. I buy two more 500 GB SSD for $26 each to upgrade my Levono laptop and my sister's Dell laptop. The PNY SSD shows the greatly improved speed of both laptops. I hope PNY shall show the product's reliability in many years to come.
Great all purpose drive

Works great, perfect for Mac mini dock

You get what you pay for and always have a backup
I have had 2 PNY branded SSDs and both failed within a year. PNY did replace them under warranty (hence 3 stars not 1) but with postage, etc. I would spent a few more bucks to get Samsung, Kingston or a more reputable brand. I would consider a PNY for data-only and WOULD NOT have PNY as the boot / OS drive.
Does NOT WORK with Atomos Ninja V
I purchased this drive to use with the Atomos Ninja V. It is NOT on the Atomos compatibility list but I've used other drives that weren't on the list and the worked fine. I tried researching the drive before purchasing and saw on PNY's Facebook page where the were using this drive with the Ninja V/V+ so I purchased it! Well as of now it does NOT WORK with the Ninja V!!!
