Photek Sunbuster Overview
No it's not a blimp eclipsing the sun, it's a behemoth called the Photek Sunbuster SB-84WFG-Plus 84" Umbrella Kit. This 84" giant can carve out a nice patch of scrimed light or open shade to tame contrast and stop the hot sun from broiling your talent. But this isn't just a large shoot-through umbrella, it's a whole system. A 42" extension pole with tilting frame is provided, along with a heavy boom-type tilting bracket. A black/silver cover replaces the white diffusion for crisp long throw reflection or lighting. The kit also includes a grip clamp and T-bar and a carrying case to put them all in.

This umbrella make aesy way for the assistance to block the hard light from the sun also I used to fill in the shadows on location I�m very satisfied with the decision of purchase this tool
Does what its supposed to, but NOT durable
Ive owned four or five of these. You may wonder, Why keep buying them? Its simple. There is nothing on the market like this. About every year or two, I must buy a new one because they get so beat up with use and the wind. The original of this was a custom-made umbrella that prop photographers like me used to get from Uncle Sams umbrellas. Unfortunately, Uncle Sam closed. That umbrella was built like a tank, based on your heavy-duty picnic umbrella but with a one-stop scrim. I had one last for nearly 8-years. This umbrella is lightweight, which is a double-edged sword. Its light to deal with, but is beat about by the wind. The wind baffle is an improvement over the older versions, but still susceptible to turning inside out. Any well equipped fashion photographer needs this. Just dont expect it to last a long time if you use it a lot.

Works well
A good scrim for the price. Doesn't really compare to scrim jims or other systems, but is easy to handle and cuts enough for individual headshot. Light quality is nice.
Second one for me
This is the second Sunbuster I've purchased. The prior one lasted at least five years of heavy use. The new one is improved as it now allows air to flow through it. A large gust of wind as a storm approached is what did the prior one in. I've tried several other portable scrims for outdoor location work and this one is the easiest to use and most economical that I've found. It's big enough to cover an average person from head to toe, sets up in a snap and can be held by just about anyone.

This is just the piece of kit I need for location shoots. It's amazing on the beach.
