Panasonic's Lumix G X Vario PZ 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 Power O.I.S. Lens (Black) is a super compact retractable pancake 3x zoom lens (28-84mm equivalent in 35 mm and full-frame formats) for Lumix Micro 4/3 cameras that's only about the size and weight of the 20mm pancake lens. It's 2.4 x 1.87"/61 x 47.7mm (the short dimension shrinks to 1.05"/26.8mm when the power is off). It weighs just 3.35 oz/95 g. Not only is it small and light, this X lens has high performance specs like electric-powered zoom operation, autofocus during movie recording, nano surface coating that drastically reduces ghosting and flare, and Power O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilization) for greatly improved image sharpness and blur reduction. Two ED lens elements compensate for chromatic aberration, and the silent design makes this an ideal lens for shooting video.

Only one Problem
I have two Micro Four Thirds camera. The lens works great on my Olympus EPL-9, but it does not fit correctly onto my E-M10 Mark IV. The body of the lens scrapes against the body of the camera, so I'm using it only on the EPL-9.

Good quality image low profile
Everything you'd want!
This lens is great! The motorized lens is perfect for our church setting where you can use a clip on hand switcher to zoom in and out during the church service without having to reach over the camera. Very smooth and quiet. Fits the blackmagic pocket camera which is what we needed it for.
O.I.S. Dual Mode ?
I needed a wide lens to use with my Lumix GX85 and because this lens had "Power O.I.S."I thought that it would work in the dual stabilization mode with the GX85. It does not. Also, the power zoom seems to be of little use although you are able to operate the zoom from the camera.
Great little everyday close quarters lens.
Bought this to use on my Ronan M gimbal. But, it's actually a great little everyday lens for close quarters. I have been using it for behind the scenes on my latest feature.

OK if small size and lightweight are paramount priorities
Evaluated on its own terms, this is a good lens. It is very small and very lightweight. Speed and control are sacrificed. Aperture ramping starts immediately as you zoom in from 14mm. There is no ability to dial focus, iris or zoom by hand. If you shoot in low to medium light or want a more robust zoom lens, strong contenders start at around twice the price of this lens.
Compact great little lens
Using this with a BMSC4K+ for a close headshot. It operated as expected. The power zoom is a little loud but cannot be picked up by my headset mic at 3 feet away.
