really poor quality.
This shelf does not slide very well and the mounts are not sturdy or easy to adjust.
Good quality shelf
Need a place to store a laptop in a rack, got this shelf to replace another that did not extend far enough out to get the screen vertical. This one works, wish it extended another inch or two, but it does the job. Seems to be of decent quality.
Right price and type for laptop
I purchased this to hold my laptop during gigs (we use clicks and such). It is perfect for this in size and in weight (not overkill, but not too light either). Note that this will work best in a rack that has front and rear rails, which will make the shelf far more solid and stable. My rack has only front ears, so its not as rock solid as I would like. I don't view this as a design flaw as much as a circumstance of the particular rack I am using.

basic shelf, works as expected
Bought this to be a shelf in the FOH rack. Attached an R16 8-ch digital recorder to the shelf with mini-bungees. Now I don't have to plug in the 8 line snake to a separately carried R16 at every gig. It works just as expected. However, it is set up in a strange, backward way. I had to remove all the screws and turn the rackmount ears around for it to mount in the conventional way that every other PA system rack shelf mounts in. Not a huge deal, however.
Good deal but get ready to work a bit
I shopped around for the least expensive rackmount sliding shelf and finally landed on these. I ordered a few from and they arrived quickly. They work well, but for some reason slide the wrong way when you install them out of the box. I had to take the sides off and swap them around before installing. Not a big deal but get ready for a bit of extra work if your setup is a standard rack like mine.
quality control issues
you get what you pay for came with a couple missing washers in the sliding hardware and rook for ever to install a couple new ones (hard to get to) but they were essential. I f you have the time this is a good little unit on the cheap
Decent
Unit is quality. Item was well packaged. Showed up with some hardware loose in package...missing a nut. Got it to work although. I would buy again.
