NiSi NIR-112-ND64 Overview
This ND64 112mm NC Neutral Density Filter from NiSi is made to fit the Nikon NIKKOR Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S lens and provides a layer of protection to the front optic without vignetting. This ultra-thin neutral density filter attaches to the 112mm filter thread in the lens' included HB-97 lens hood, is made of H-K9L optical glass, and features nine layers of U-Type anti-reflective Nano multi-coating on each side and an additional hardened waterproof coating for protection from the elements. The filter ring is milled from brass and features side knurling for smooth installation and removal.
This ND64 filter provides a 1.8 filter factor that provides a 6-stop exposure reduction across the entire image, allowing the use of a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing exposure time, movement may be conveyed more clearly, and by adjusting aperture, depth of field may be more creatively controlled. These abilities are very useful when shooting landscapes, especially in bright sunlight.
