Nanuk 909 Overview
This yellow 909 Hard Utility Case from Nanuk is made from dust, crush, waterproof, and lightweight NK-7 polypropylene resin. It protects and stores delicate medium-sized items like photo/video gear, tablets, diagnostic equipment, small drones, electronics and components, compact tools, and handguns. This version of the 909 is offered with a multilayer cubed foam insert that you can easily customize to your specific needs or gear. The insert includes a convoluted eggcrate foam lid insert and a solid base layer for the bottom to give your delicate equipment complete protection.
Its molded-in bezel and gasket are held fast with the PowerClaw latching system. This patented latch uses compressive force to tightly clamp the case shut to a waterproof and dustproof IP67 rating, with an integrated slide lock that prevents the case from accidentally opening during transport or if dropped. For additional security, there are two 0.3" padlock holes integrated into the case and lid. The case features a built-in pressure relief valve that regulates the internal pressure, keeping your gear and the case from getting crushed during air travel and allowing you to open the case without having to break a tough pressurized seal that may develop. Further design features include rustproof and strong stainless steel hardware, and a foldable soft-grip handle at the top.

Perfect for my 9mm Hellcat RDP
Nothing more needed to say, except that price was just as excellent at $34.95 with free and fast delivery (ordered 27 Jan and received 29 Jan).
The case has its positives but one large caveat.
Let's face it. Nanuk is a good case for the money. It provides good value, is well made and comes in many different colors. All good right? Well, not really and is the reason I went to Pelican and SKB. When I was looking for a case, I wanted reliability . All good so far. But, then when I checked out the warranty and availability of parts on Nanuk's website , I read that all warranty issues; in other words, warranty repairs etc must be sent to Canada for evaluation. Yikes!! This means I would have to send my case there and I could only imagine the cost and the fact I would have to fill in customs declarations to send it to Canada. And, if all was well, I would have to pay for the return charges as well!!. So where is the savings? In fairness to Nanuk though, I did check out the case at a local dealer before making the final decision, and frankly, the case did not seem as well made. The walls were thinner than the Pelican version and the foam seemed a bit flimsy. I guess you get what you pay for. For all these reasons, I went with Pelican and felt assured that at the very least, I would not have to deal with customs declarations should the product need repair or replacement parts.
Case is nice but foam was deteriorating on arrival
I purchased a Nanuk 909 and a larger Nanuk case to store optics. The foam in the 909 looked oxidized and was shedding black dust everywhere. Even after vacuuming, it just kept coming. Could not use to store optics due to all the contamination. The foam in the larger case was fine. Will exchange and hope to get one with fresher foam.
