The Nakamichi DRAGON Dolby Atmos Home Surround Sound System with Quad 12" Subwoofers is a 21-channel wireless surround sound system with quad 12" subwoofers, 2 Omni-Motion Reference surrounds, 7 AMT tweeters, and 17 digital amplifiers. The DRAGON system can render Dolby Surround formats, such as Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Atmos, that are identical to high-end AVRs, delivering the same granular detail and positional precision of a movie theater. It's also equipped with DTS:X Pro support, the commercial version of DTS:X, which unlocks extra surround and height details. The entire system is easily controlled via an on-screen display, mobile remote app, or an included 45-key backlit Bluetooth/IR remote control.

The main unit in the DRAGON system is a 58" wide soundbar that enables optimal air volume for all of its 17 drivers, achieving their maximum acoustic performance and replicating a true-to-life cinema or concert hall soundstage. Each speaker channel has its own dedicated enclosure, optimizing air movement for immaculate sound separation. The main unit consists of ten 3" drivers and four 3" dual-angled up-firing drivers. Each pair of up-firing drivers is inclined at 10 and 20? and works with rear up-firing drivers to precisely render overhead sound effects for a true-to-life X.X.6 multi-altitude soundscape. The main unit also features three exposed Hi-Fi grade Air Motion Tweeters (AMT) that work to elevate the experience by delivering treble effects and fast transients with extreme clarity.

Nakamichi reached out to their owners and fans regarding their desired subwoofer preferences and listened, creating this updated Dragon system with upgraded quad 12" subwoofers. Each 80 lb beast of a subwoofer packs a 12" long-throw carbon fiber-reinforced aerospace-grade aluminum driver, in addition to a 12" down-firing carbon passive radiator. The combination emits up to 750W of peak thundering bass at frequencies as low as a rumbling 19 Hz with clarity. To help create a similar effect to what you may find in an actual Dolby Atmos theater, the subs use a wafer-thin layer of carbon fiber that's laminated to the rear of each cone, using its high stiffness-to-weight ratio to help eliminate unwanted resonance. What you're left with is pure room-filling and room-rocking bass. (Note: Picture is for reference only. Four subwoofers are included.)

Each wireless surround integrates side, rear, and height channels that come together to deliver a 360? soundscape. Weighing 9 lb each, they are designed in a bipolar configuration with three 3" drivers and two 1.5" Air Motion Tweeters (AMT), which are designed to produce breathtaking surround effects with pinpoint accuracy that envelop you and your guests in stunning clarity and realism. The singular 3" up-firing driver in each works with the four in the main unit to precisely produce overhead sound effects for a true-to-life X.X.6 multi-altitude soundscape. In addition, each of these up-firing drivers features a PerfectHeight mechanism with up to 180? of rotation to accommodate speaker placement, room shape, and seating position.

You can use AHD technology to focus, expand, and intensify the height soundscape to complete the surround sound picture and tailor height effects to your specific listening environment. Choose from the following modes:

• Focal: Optimizes height effects for a center-focused 3D soundstage
• Wide: Optimizes height effects for a soundstage with a wide field of view
• Max: This maximizes the height effects regardless of content type

Included in the system is a full-featured, aluminum 43-key backlit Bluetooth remote that enables seamless control from any corner of the room without requiring line-of-sight. It also offers large, color-coded, and thumb-sized buttons, making it easy to control. This remote is in addition to an on-screen display and mobile remote app, delivering seamless navigation and nearly effortless usability.
