MuxLab 2-Pack Balun Kit Overview
The MuxLab Component Video & Stereo Analog Audio 2-Pack Balun Kit is a set of two baluns that work together to transmit a component video signal along with a stereo analog audio signal for long distances over a Cat5e/6 cable. The cable is not included. You can carry, for example, a DVD player's video and audio signals from one room to a plasma and speaker system in another. The baluns each connect to their video source by an integrated RCA cable with three male connectors, and to their audio source by an optional RCA cable. In the DVD player example, make sure to connect into the DVD player's stereo audio outputs to carry a stereo audio signal, which is the only kind that these baluns support. An audio signal carries on the fourth twisted pair of a Cat5e/6 cable.
The video carry distance depends on resolution. You can transmit 480i/p resolution 1000 ft, and 720p or 1080i/p 500 ft. Audio carries 3250 ft.
