Photograph sunspots, surface granulation, eclipses and planetary transits with your telephoto lens and the StarGuy 52mm Thread-in White-Light Solar Filter. These filters display the sun in a neutral white color without the red or blue tinting common in many glass and film filters. Made of a tear-resistant solar-viewing film, it is coated on both sides to eliminate the effects of pinholes while the intentional wrinkles improve image contrast and will not affect image quality or safety. The filter ring is made of a durable and lightweight aluminum alloy coated with a reflection-limiting anodized finish. This version of the solar filter has threads that allow it to thread onto the front of 52mm lenses. For the safety of your eyes and equipment, never look or point the camera directly at the sun through a lens without proper solar filters as permanent damage to the gear and your eyes will occur.

Works as expected
I bought this filter for use on the upcoming eclipse. I tested it on the full sun, and it works as expected. Great results so far.
Nice 52mm solar filter
Nice photos of the sun. The sun's disk is white through the filter. Fits perfectly on 52mm threads. All ready for the August solar eclipse.
Larger than 52mm filter
This is a great product, but it is much larger than a standard 52mm filter. I was looking for a 52mm filter for a drop-in tray for a 500mm lens. Yes the thread size fits, but the entire filter will not drop into the lens. Returning.
I would buy this again
I bought this for the upcoming eclipse and have tried it out on full sun. It works as well as I had hoped.
Outside diameter is 70 mm
Just a note that the threaded side is 52mm but the OD is 70mm.
