MP44019 is a CrM/DCM multi-mode PFC controller with second OVP that provides simple and high performance active power factor correction using minimal external components. Device features a very low supply current. This allows device to achieve low standby power loss. Typical no load power loss is below 50mW. It reduces the switching frequency using dead time extension technology under light loads. This improves light-load efficiency. Device achieves lower total harmonic distortion due to variable on time control in discontinuous conduction mode, when compared to conventional constant on time (COT) control. Multi-protection functionality largely enhances the safety and reliability of the system. MP44019 feature overvoltage protection, second OVP, overcurrent limit, overcurrent protection. It is available in an SOIC-8 package. Applications include LCD and OLED TVs, desktop PCs and servers, high-power supplies for lighting, AC/DC adapters, open-frame SMPSs and video game consoles.
