Linear hall effect current sensor evaluation board is designed to demonstrate the capabilities of the MCS1803 linear hall effect current sensor for AC and DC current sensing. The hall array is differential, which cancels out stray magnetic field. The output voltage (VOUT) is proportional to the primary applied current flowing through the primary conductor. The galvanic isolation between the primary conductive path pins and the sensor leads allow the device to take the place of optoisolators or other expensive isolation devices. The MCS1803 is available in a SOIC-8 package. Typical applications include motor controls, automotive systems, load detection, load management, switch-mode power supplies and overcurrent fault protections.
- 5V typical VCC supply voltage
- ±20A optimized primary current, 100mV/A typical sensitivity
- Differential hall array for external magnetic field cancellation
- 0.9mohm internal conductor resistance
- 100KHz maximum bandwidth
- 4µs minimum output rise time
