Mint Camera Instantkon RF70 Overview
InstantKon RF70 - The basic introduction
A unique blend of control and flexibility, the InstantKon RF70 from MiNT is an INSTAX Wide-format instant film camera featuring a distinct folding design along with both fully manual and automated capabilities. In addition to the vintage-inspired folding design, the RF70 also sports a mechanical rangefinder that enables precise manual focus operation and supports an accurate 0.44x-magnification optical viewfinder for composing shots. In terms of operation, manual shutter speed and aperture control is possible, along with support for multiple exposure and bulb functions for creative results. The integrated 93mm f/5.6 lens features a triplet optical layout, with individual glass elements sporting an aspherical design and a multi-coating for high sharpness, contrast, and color accuracy. Additionally, the camera has a built-in flash, features a 2.5mm port for connecting an optional external strobe, is compatible with threaded cable releases, has a 1/4"-20 tripod mount, and features a settings LCD screen for reviewing exposure settings.
Folding design uses a bellows to maintain a relatively compact form factor when the camera is not in use, but still accommodates the large INSTAX Wide film format.
Mechanical rangefinder design enables precise manual focus control for working with subjects as close as 2.5' away.
Both automatic (aperture priority) and manual exposure control methods are available; manual control makes use of a full range of shutter speeds, from 1 to 1/500 sec, and aperture settings, from f/5.6 to f/22. Also, A+1 and A-1 exposure compensation settings can be used in aperture priority mode.
Bulb setting is available for making long exposures up to 10 minutes long.
Multiple exposure lever enables making an unlimited number of exposures on a single sheet of film.
Built-in pop-up flash can be used for fill flash or to provide additional illumination to the scene for working in low-light conditions, and a 2.5mm port is also available for connecting an optional external strobe.
Integrated rear LCD highlights shooting settings for more intuitive manual exposure control.
Fixed 93mm f/5.6 lens features an all-glass triplet optical design with multi-coated elements to provide high contrast and color saturation. Individual elements also feature an aspherical design for impressive sharpness and low distortion.
Optical viewfinder features a 0.44x magnification and works in conjunction with the rangefinder design to provide an accurate field of view for composing shots.
Threaded shutter release button accepts standard cable releases, and a 1/4"-20 mount is also featured for working atop a tripod or a monopod.
Two AA batteries are used as the power source for the built-in light meter and LCD screen.
