Designed for outstanding performance in low-light conditions when many animals are most active, the Meopta 8x42 MeoStar B1 Plus Binoculars provide a superior viewing experience by combining well-engineered optics and a wide field of view in a lightweight and durable housing.
The compact Schmidt-Pechan roof prisms help keep the optical tubes thin, despite the massive objectives, and deliver vivid true-color images that are bright and crisp across the entire field of view with limited internal light loss or diffraction. Its objective lenses are treated with proprietary anti-reflection MeoBright multicoatings to maximize light transmission and are further treated with Meopta's proprietary MeoShield and MeoDrop exterior coatings that protect the lens surfaces from scratches and makes cleaning off oils and other contaminants easy without leaving residue. These coatings ensure the lenses stay free from imperfections that can interfere with your glassing experience and let you immerse yourself in the view. When taken together, the prisms and coatings produce bright and crisp high-contrast views with accurate color representation and sharp resolution. The combination of moderate magnification and large objective produce an exceptionally wide exit pupil that delivers massive amounts of light into your eye, so views remain bright and crisp even when there is limited light availablesuch as in the pre-dawn and late dusk hours.
Meopta designed the binoculars with ergonomics in mind to minimize user fatigue during long observations. Its large center focusing wheel is easy to use with either hand and a locking dioptric correction dial, located on the focusing knob, ensures precise focusing, even if you normally wear corrective eyeglasses. The housing is made from a lightweight and durable aluminum alloy that is center weighted by the prism design, so they sit comfortably in the hand. Protective rubber armor wraps the body and provides a slip-resistant grip, especially in cold and wet conditions. The housing is nitrogen filled and sealed to be waterproof and resistant to internal fogging in extreme conditions.
Optical Performance
- Optimized for low-light use with an exceptional exit pupil and large objectives
- Moderate 8x power magnifies the view while presenting a wide field of view and long eye relief to greatly improve the user's experience
- Massive 56mm objective lenses deliver bright views even in challenging light conditions such as the pre-dawn and late dusk hours
- Schimdt-Pechan roof prism design allows for thinner optical tubes versus the more common Abbe-Koenig design, resulting in an easier-to-hold form factor, even with the large objectives
- Proprietary ion-assisted MeoBright multicoatings deliver 99.7% light transmission while suppressing glare
- MeoShield exterior coating protects lenses from scratches or abrasions
- MeoDrop lens coatings repel water and allow grease, skin oils, and surface contaminants to be removed without residue that can impair view clarity
- 334-foot field of view at 1000 yards
Use and Handling
- Closed-bridge configuration provides a solid and stable platform for the internal focusing mechanism
- Large slip-resistant center focusing knob with ±3 dioptric correction dial is easy to manipulate in cold and wet conditions, even while wearing gloves
- Locking diopter sets the desired correction against accidental adjustment
- Wide 56-74mm interpupillary adjustment range
- Twist-up rubber eyecups for easy use with or without eyewear
- Long 22mm eye relief produces a generous eye box that reduces eyestrain during long glassing sessions
- Exceptional 7mmm exit pupil delivers all available light into the eye to ensure views are bright and clear with any vignetting of the view
