Matica XID8600 Overview
The XID8600 Dual-Sided Retransfer ID Card Printer with Magnetic Stripe Encoder & Contact Chip Encoder from Matica is a dye-sublimation retransfer card printer designed for printing identity, membership, and credit/debit cards. It features integrated USB/Ethernet connectivity for standalone printing and comes with a camera for card photos. The 600 dpi printer produces up to 120 cards per hour, single-sided with simplicity. The input and output hoppers hold 200 cards and 100, respectively. An easy-to-use interface makes operation easy, and the printer's modest footprint and stylish good looks make it suitable for any office environment. This printer includes a magnetic stripe card encoder, which stores data by modifying the magnetism of tiny iron-based particles on a band of magnetic material on the card. It also includes a contact chip encoder. Contact smart cards have an embedded integrated chip that can is programmed or read by direct contact with the chip's gold-plated contact pads. These pads provide electrical connectivity when inserted into a reader or encoder.
