Great in theory...
I have another ManFrotto backdrop that is actually larger and I have no issues, so I know it is this particular item. When it hangs, it is bent and looks lopsided, it appears to be the frame. I should have returned it when I got it, but thought is was from being in the case and that in time it would straighten out. It hasn't. I'm sorry for the price of these, it's not something I can just write off. Very disapointed.
Perfect
Just what I needed. Fun to fold back down. Better than fighting with cloth and rolls of paper. Pops open like a boss.
Can't believe how good
I wasn't sure about the pewter, but wow quite impressive. Amazing quality this definitely will last and stand the test of time and hard work.
Great Solution for headshots
As a headshot photographer I'm looking for solutions to providing options. All the while I need to get in and out of Atlanta high rises in a timely fashion, most often by myself. This background is as good as a hand painted bg, folks up, doesn't wrinkle, sets up easier, and travels well. I'll be getting more.
Simple and fast
Easy and compact for travel and setup. As with any of them, a challenge to fold down, sometimes very entertaining to watch. Once you practice a few times, is a snap. Looking for many years of service from the background.
Not what I expected
I am sure this is the same great quality all Lastolite products are normally made, however, these were not the colors I expected the Walnut side has a lot of magentas which I did not care for. I was looking for more browns and beiges. The other side is so dark that you can barely tell it has more than one color in it. I returned this product for a refund
Could be better for the price
Purchased this over a much cheaper one of similar colours. The materials are high quality, but the construction is not so great. The fabric of the walnut side is physically larger than the fabric of the pewter side. I contacted Lastolite's service center here in Japan and they basically just told me that's how it is and I have to stretch it out with something. So I rigged up a fiberglass rod to apply pressure in the middle to help get rid of some of the major rippling. Hugely disappointed in this aspect of the thing. Otherwise? The material is nice and non-reflective. The elastic edging feels strong. The stitching is durable looking. The bag is very spacious so it fits easily with the background and my fiberglass rod. I like having spacious bags. In photos it's really nice. It has a natural vignette so I don't feel the need to tightly control the light onto the background. I used to always shoot with a grid for this reason, but now I don't need to. The pewter side is dark enough so it can handle a fair bit of light and still be dark. The walnut side is very nice and goes well with darker skin and brown eyes beautifully. It's really not as nice as a painted muslin and looks printed even from a few feet back. So shooting with it clearly in focus can risk some cheese factor. Though barely. It's easy to fold once you learn how. Takes only 30-45 seconds from holding it to zipping the bag with it inside.
Very nice background
The brown color is very nice once photographed, and the slate color is great too. Very good!
