It Works, But....
The head part works great. Manfrotto collapsible backgrounds with the metal band, latch on and hold tight. A really great design, I love that part of it. The carrying case is sweet, very nicely made. The not so great part, the light stand, it is flimsy and pretty cheap. The idea behind this kit is to support 5' x 7' backgrounds (monsters), well actually suspend those backgrounds. A far beefier stand would work better. The stand sort of works.
Most disappointing for a Manfrotto
Out of the box I was extremely sceptical but still decided to give it a go. It is very poorly built using very light materials unlike any of the Manfrotto tripod stands I have ever used. When assembled it limbers and is not sturdy at all. Wish I had used it earlier so I could have returned it in time.
Just what we needed, strong magnets
Easy to set up and the magnets work well with the Manfrotto backdrops. I'm sure they will with others as long as there is enough magnetic metal in their frames. Base is adequate, with a extra sandbag you're perfect.
The Missing Piece to Portability
This is the missing piece to my mobile headshot studio! I've struggled to get my pop-up backdrop set up and broken down quickly. This backdrop support kit is so simple - you snap it up and it's done! It's also very portable and comes in its own bag. I have a few different brands of pop-up backdrops all work really well with each one. The light stand is sturdy, but not too heavy. You will need sandbags/weights if you set up outside and there is a breeze. And got it to me very quickly! Overall a solid product that I am very happy with my purchase.

Magnetic support works great... a little bit on the pricey side. It's a better value as a kit.
Works perfectly
I am shocked and very pleased at how easy this is to set up and how well it works. It's also very lightweight and takes up almost no room when stored.
Good portable stand
Overall this serves its purpose. It's lightweight and easy to carry in its provided bag. It's a bit wobbly so be cautious where you set it up. Keep your subjects a good distance from it.
