Great if you know how to install
Ignore the bad reviews, there is a trick to installing! Have a friend help you. Attach tape to the paper. Roll the bar from the paper onto the tape and stick it down. Roll the taped paper back onto the paper and push the plastic down onto the pill. I have 20 of these and it works every time.
Horrible design
Extremely difficult to install and align without ripping and starting all over again. It may work best with cloth backgrounds but NOT WITH PAPER!
Nice Idea, Bad Design, Very Frustrating and Difficult To Dep
Attaching this to a 9' seamless paper edge is an exercise in patience and extreme irritation. Having 3 of them, I know hat I am talking about. I is incredibly difficult to snap the plastic cover over the edge without mis aligning the paper leading to a skew bottom weight and varying degrees of wavy seamless depending on how many times one attempted to install and what level of success was achieved. - please make an installation video or ask manfrotto to make one so that we can see if there is some special technique to overcome this klunky and inefficient design. The Foba bar makes way more sense although incredible pricey. Savage system seems like it also would be easier, albeit also a price jump. You can do better Manfrotto!
Simple, functional and affordable
I decided to try this when the savage 107 bars became to expensive to ship. I had no problem installing it on 107 paper. I did use a 10' piece of PVC laid across the paper to keep it flat and stop it from curling, which is key to success. You could also use the long box your paper roll came it to keep your paper flat. It took me a try or two to get the ends tight, but I had no problem taking the plastic off and getting it just right. I kind of rolled it inward when snapping the plastic on and that seemed to make it taught all the way across.
Perfect for paper and vinyl
Curling backgrounds can be a pain, but this weight makes the issues disappear. Easy to use. Will pick up a few more.
