Description
MagMod MagGrip Overview
The MagGrip 2 is the adapter that's used to attach many of the MagMod modifiers to hot shoe flashes. Made of silicone rubber, it stretches and secures over the flash head and provides a magnetic based for attaching modifiers such as the MagGrid, MagBounce, and many others. This v2 version is especially designed for round-head flashes but is suitable for standard ones as well. It's more oval than the original version in order to better fit round-head flashes. It's also a bit more compact. The built-in magnets offer strong magnetic attachment points and allow you to swap modifiers on the fly. The silicone rubber material retains 99% of its elasticity over time, even after long, repeated use.

Great concept
Great concept, easy to attach diffusers. I would have given higher rating if they kept the slight larger, stronger magnets. Nothing has ever fallen off but the system feels weakened after working with the larger magnets.
Not 100% backward compatible
I needed an extra band so that I could use some of my MagMod Version 1 diffusers on a third flash. While the MagBounce, MagSnoot and MagSphere fit the MagGrip2 with minimal distortion, that is not the case for the MagGrid or MagGel without distortion. It's a pity that MagMod no longer provides the original MagGrip

I find this accessory very simple and easy to use on a Nikon SB 5000 Fully recommend it!
Does not fit Canon EL-1 Speedlite
Tried to install it on my Canon EL-1 Speedlite but, to no avail. It is impossible. It should not be this difficult to install. I also tried to install it on my Canon 600EXII-RT and it is harder than the MagGrip1. Waste of money.
MagMod products are time saver
I use them for my all day photoshoots for my godox and canon lenses and they really quite easy and comfort.
Use Personal Trainer to install MagMod MagGrip 2
I played the Utube and MagMod videos for installation. I tried to install the rip on my Godox round flash. I do not believe either video was accurate, as this item does not stretch as easily as reported, use of thumbs didn't help much either. Called B and H who sympathized with me as other customers reported similar issues. Review of my friends and associates for, who is the strongest revealed my personal trainer won. I showed him the video and after trying suggested techniques didn't feel they were helpful. He didn't believe video either. Since he is smart, he put speed light between his legs and stretched MagGrip 2 over my speed light. Fortunately, he didn't charge me for a session which, I would have forwarded to MagMod. This company needs to address the issue of installation. If MagGrip 2 is not installed the other accessories are unabled to be used. MagGrip 2 is the bedrock of their accessories.
