The Book Repair Tool Kit from Lineco contains tools essential for repairing books and other paper products that become brittle or damaged from wear and tear over time.
A book spine may split or separate completely, and that's when the gummed linen book repair tape and neutral pH adhesive become ideal for administering to the book. Torn pages can be remedied by applying the self-adhesive transparent mending tissue; dust and fingerprints can be cleaned off with the document cleaning pad and the gum eraser/cleaner. In addition, the genuine paper folder creates precise creases into paper and burnishes paper tape evenly.
Over time, books or older documents become brittle and may tear because of age, or simply just from mishandling. Of course, no one wants to lose an item of value to damage: therefore, the 0.5 x 12' roll of Transparent Mending Tissue from Lineco will repair tears and rips in the paper.
Pulling a piece of the thin, pressure sensitive tissue and placing it over the tear strengthens and supports the torn area of the paper. By using a bone folder, and rubbing the tissue over the area, the tissue will adhere and further prevent any more tears. The Mending Tissue is archival and acid-free, which also maintains a neutral pH level. The tissue will not yellow over time, and solvents can be used to remove the Mending tape.
The Lineco BBHT101 Medium Bone Paper Folder is a smooth-edged 6" tool for making precise creases in paper, embossing, and burnishing... invaluable for fibrous and heavy decorative papers. It is made with real bone.
Lineco White Neutral pH Adhesive can be used for a wide variety of crafts projects - and then some. Whether for bookbinding, collages or framing, the quick-setting formula won't spoil with age. The adhesive is a neutral PVA formula that can be re-moistened with water making it a viable choice for most artwork.
This item cannot be shipped during the winter months since there is a chance it may freeze.
