Enhance your multitasking capabilities with the LG DualUp 28MQ780-B 27.6" HDR Monitor. Designed to provide programmers, content creators, designers, and office workers a large and highly flexible viewing space, the DualUp stacks two QHD screens atop each other to create a single 2560 x 2880 resolution display with a 16:18 aspect ratio. This vertical design helps to save desk space while offering all the benefits of a dual-monitor setup, such as viewing multiple applications and windows at the same time. The included Ergo stand allows you to extend, retract, and swivel the screen in addition to adjusting its height and tilt for optimal viewing. A built-in ambient light sensor provides extended viewing comfort by automatically optimizing the screen's brightness according to your environment's changing conditions.
The screen itself is designed to deliver clear, color-accurate images with support for high-dynamic range. Connect the LG DualUp to your system through the two HDMI ports or the DisplayPort input. Alternatively, you can reduce desktop clutter by using the USB-C port to transfer video, data, and up to 90W of power over a single cable with compatible laptops. You can place video feeds from multiple inputs next to each other in Picture-by-Picture mode. Additionally, the USB-C connection allows you to take advantage of the monitor's built-in KVM switch to control multiple computers with one mouse and keyboard set. Other features include integrated stereo speakers and a dual-port USB hub.

LG 28MQ780-B Reviews
No other screen like it
Where for me a 4k is 'too much of a good thing' and a 1440p is not quite enough, this nails the sweet spot. It's the vertical height and unique aspect ratio that does it. You can always rotate a 16:9 screen 90 degrees, but then you lose a lot of width. This is just right, for having to get into remote VDIs, and programming, and music library maintenance, all at once if needed. Have not tried gaming with it, not sure how this aspect ratio will fit with a lot of titles, but the picture quality is solid.
Portrait Orientation is Awesome for Tall Documents
Overall I am very happy having now used it for a few weeks. I bought a 32" LG to go along with it and now I get the best of portrait and landscape. A few more thoughts below. -The mount is such that it cannot be easily mounted through a desk grommet or hole and if you do it will leave a slight gap where the mount passes though desk. My desk faces our entry vs a wall so this will not be a problem for most. -Screen offers a a ton of vertical real estate but does take some adjusting (especially for your neck). I wanted to send it back when I first got it, but I have gotten used to it and now love it. -I had two 27" LG monitors previously and own two Gram Laptops, generally I am fan of their quality.
A Productivity Enhancer!
I'm currently using two LG DualUps in a side-by-side configuration and let me just say these monitors have turned me into a productivity monster! I went from a Dell Ultrawide to the dual LG DualUp set-up and I am NEVER looking back. Having four windows across two DualUps is fantastic and makes getting work done so much easier! Oh, and writing/reading code within a window scaling the entire vertical length of the monitor is a joy! This is the monitor for you if you want to get things done!
A reasonable deal at $600
If you consider the price of two 2560x1440 monitors go for about $300, if you plan to set them up top and bottom, this is a great alternative. Toss in a stylish and effective monitor stand along with good HDMI and USB-C wires, this is actually a reasonable deal. As a bonus, the monitor also has usable speakers. I've been using this primarily to toggle between split-view (what it calls PBP) shared between 2 Windows computers (in place of a KVM) and tall-view as a third monitor on one of those computers and it is very effective. Toggle between the views with the LG-style button under the middle of the monitor. Hop through the display menu a little more and you can control which PC connects to the speakers. Also tested with an iPad as an external display via USB-C, it works just fine either in split view or as a single monitor. It took me two times longer to remove my old monitor and stand than to set up this one. I wish I had a second monitor arm like this for my other display. I especially like how the arm doesn't protrude far beyond the back of the mount when you push the monitor back and the mount clamp only protrudes about 0.5"/2cm from the edge of the desk allowing the edge of the desk to be relatively close to the wall. It lowers enough to allow the monitor to be as little as 1.5"/4cm off the desk it attaches to. The action on the arm is very smooth and easy to move it around without the monitor accidentally tilting. I have this attached to an electric raisable desk and it is not impacted by regularly raising and lowering the desk. I've only come across one problem: via HDMI, sometimes Windows reconnects to the display in split-view but tries to squeeze the full height into the split view (looks to be a Windows 10 issue). To fix this, I just unplug and re-plug the HDMI cable from either end and Windows picks back up on the proper resolution. This has only happened maybe 2 or 3 times in the two weeks I've had it, so it's fairly minor and hasn't happened enough for me to work out the circumstances that lead to the issue. I have not tried the software and I don't plan on it-I prefer not to install anything unnecessary-the button on the monitor does all the work I need and after walking through the menus with it a couple times I'm perfectly comfortable and prefer that method. The monitor advertises 27.6" and in practice it's effectively two 23" monitors without a seam between them. 27.6 is even conservative, some companies would probably mark this as 28" and change. As a bonus, you don't have to worry about the Windows task bar taking up real estate when using it as a single monitor. If you do want to split it off like two monitors while connected as one, I recommend using Microsoft's PowerToys with the FancyZones feature.
My clean desk
This cleaned up the atheistic and actual space of my desk. So far the tech look and works great.
