Kupo KG204311 Overview
Often paired with a C-Stand, the black 20" Hex Grip Arm from Kupo has a 5/8" hex pin at one end of a 20" textured, non-slip steel tube and a 2-1/2" grip head at the other. The hex pin has 6 milled flat surfaces so that you can attach a light to it without it turning and use the arm like a mini boom. The grip head has a pair of rotating discs attached to a 5/8" receiver. The discs have 4 V-shaped jaws to accept 5/8", 1/2", 3/8" or 1/4" accessories like flags, scrims or even another grip arm. The jaws are locked down by an oversized, ergonomic T-handle.

Must Have Accessory!
I purchased two of these based on the recommendation of another photographer (John Gress) who has a great video on how to build backdrops multiple ways. I travel a lot and needed a quick way to create a back drop while conserving space since my gear list is ridiculously long. They worked perfectly, and took up minimum space compared to my other backdrop equipment. Very satisfied!
Very well made grip arm
Very solid, sturdy grip arm.
love the hex design, way heavier than a Mathews grip head
I bought this for the hex feature, but unfortunately the head is the same generic head all the import brands are using (impact, ikan, etc). It's way heavier than it needs to be and the handle is bigger than it needs to be. Compared side to side with a Matthews, you'll immediately notice the difference. Still handy and have a need for it. May saw off some of the excess fat, lol :)

Good Piece of Gear
I wanted a grip arm shorter than 40. I chose this Kupo product not only because of its shorter length but also for the flat that is cut at the end for mounting items that won't spin. The grip head is fixed. The black finish is even and looks to be durable.
Does the trick
Heavier than a Matthews, a little harder to move inside a knuckle due to the textured surface of the arm, but maybe that's a good thing. I bought it to use as a short boom for hanging an Aputure 300D + Lantern (original) so the hex end is a must and this is the only option I've found shorter than 40. The Kupo knobs seem overengineered and big, but I'm also conscious of looking after my wrists. Nice to have a shorter option in the kit alongside my 40 arms.
