This C-Stand with Quick Release Sliding Leg with Grip Arm from Impact features a 40" double riser that can't compare for sturdy support for light fixtures and accessories weighing up to 22 lb. This chrome-finish sliding leg model has a movable top leg designed for leveling the stand on uneven surfaces like stairs or curbs. Impact's unique quick release leg lock simplifies opening and closing the legs for rapid deployment and breakdown. With a simple twist, the legs open to the perfect position, with no extra positioning required, then tightening the knob to lock everything in place. The C-stand's unique feature of staggered leg height allows it to be placed very close to other stands when floor space is at a premium or several stands need to fit in a small area. Unbelievable price for the quality, great C-Stand!
Locking knuckles facing the wrong way
Everything about the stand is great, except for the fact that the knuckles that lock the height adjustment face right when it's overlooking the tall leg. This makes zero sense, since that's the side that the gobo knuckles are supposed to be on. They block the gobo arm from swinging freely. If you were to rotate it so that the locking knuckles are facing the left, you're now overlooking the middle leg, which you would never place your payload over. I really don't understand how this was overlooked in the design of the stand. The normal rising leg stands that Impact makes don't seem to have this problem, so how does a newer iteration of the item come with such a basic oversight?
A sturdy workhorse ready for any set
I recently put a handful of these stands to work for my lighting setups when directing a commercial. The stands break down and setup very smoothly & efficiently, and the adjustable grip arm was great for fine tuning our large LED panels and Aputure lights. They are heavy, but with that comes a real sturdiness which I prefer to saving a few pounds. I also love the option of the matte black as opposed to the typical polished chrome. This c-stand does its job, and a great price
When looking for a c-stand, I want something that feels sturdy and handles weight, and this checks that box. Made of all metal construction, it feels well made. I love that the grip head and arm have big handles that allow me to tighten it down in place with authority. I've used other c-stands with smaller handles that did not feel as good in the hand. These are nice and bulky which help give you the grip and torque needed to feel that everything is secure. Also, opening and closing the legs felt very intuitive to me. Just loosen the bottom handle and twist the main riser and the legs fall gently into place. I see why they call this one a quick release. Very easy. Another nice feature is the ability to slide one leg up for setting it up on an incline or curb. This is a nice addition if you need to set it up on stairs too. Probably won't need this on every production, but when needed, this feature is super helpful. Overall I'm very impressed with this c-stand, and it would be hard to beat it's price. I love c-stands for all of the flexibility they add to a shoot. They can be used to hold flags, silks etc.., hold a boom pole and mic and used for heavier lights/gear. And this one works as advertised in my opinion. For the average filmmaker/videographer this is a great addition to your kit. [I have received this product in exchange for my honest review]

Perfect For A Home or Pro Studio
I am a full-time YouTuber with a home studio and wanted a C-Stand that could comfortably hold a COB light with a softbox and not tip over and not take up a bunch of space since I am working in a bedroom converted into a studio and this C-Stand fits the bill perfectly. The post have nice rubber gaskets on them so even if you loosen a knob and the post free falls it won't just slam down with blunt force. The knobs are also big, easy to grip, and lock nicely without much effort. Finally, the legs are very simple to adjust and can be adjusted for non-even surfaces. This last thing shouldn't be an afterthought but the weight of these stands are so perfect that I almost didn't pay attention to it to mention it. These stands are heavy enough to hold lights and softboxes without the need for sandbags indoors and still light enough that nearly anyone can carry it and set it up.
