Good build quality
Stop making your own cables!
It's hard enough to find heavy gauge Edison to IEC cables, but trying to find really short ones for keeping a rack etc from becoming a big mess is a challenge. Getting heavy gauge and short lengths together is swell! Also nice is Hosa has them in very long lengths as well. Why is such a thing so rare? has great prices and selection of these. I only give it four stars because in the perfect world it would have a higher twist to the conductors to reduce the magnetic field emissions. Depending on your application this may matter not at all to a lot. But you also pay for that feature!
